Wednesday, January 28th, 2021.

Bible Text: James 5:13-16

# THE SICK WITH OIL AND PRAYER # #

“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord” James 5:14

A woman who returned from a hospital without hope forced her husband to call their pastor. While praying, the pastor remembered James 5:13-16 and quickly summoned three deacons. They prayed and anointed the woman. God answered and the woman received her healing.
God honours the prayers of the church elders offered in faith and unity. Today's passage clearly states that those who are sick can call on the elders of the church to pray and anoint them “and the prayer offered in faith will make the sick persons well; the Lord will raise them up. If [even] they have sinned, they will be forgiven” (James 5:15). What a great privilege! This is one of the benefits of belonging to a family of faith.
If you or any of your family members is sick or in any serious trouble, make use of the Word of God and, let your spiritual father and the elders pray for you. God’s Word cannot be invalidated, He is still able to do all He has promised. The prayer of the elders offered in faith will raise the sick and testimonies will abound.

Insight: The prayers of the righteous avail much. Do not walk alone.

Prayer: Lord, I declare Your word of healing over my life and family.

How can I destroy the Power of Death.
- Hebrews 5vs 6-7 ~{As He also says in another place:
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek”;
7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear}.

= It's not the gun shot that can kills. But it's the spirit of Death that kills. { someone can be shot on the heard yet survives yet someone shot onthe leg and dies}.
