VERSE
1 Samuel 12:20 (KJV) And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

INSPIRATION
After the people of Israel had sinned and asked for a king that they might be like all the other nations, instead of rejoicing that Jehovah-God was their king, the Lord sent a thunderstorm that made them afraid. And they feared because they had asked for a king. But Samuel assured them they must continue to follow the Lord even now that he had given a king to be over them.

PRAYER
O Lord, there are times when we commit some great sin or make some wrong choice in life that has an effect on the rest of our lives. We may fear You will not be with us anymore. But we know that if we follow You now from where we are at, and seek forgiveness for past wrongs, You will forgive us and lead us.

Luke 12:8 (KJV) Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

INSPIRATION
There is an old distinction between "profession" and "confession" which seems to apply here. To profess is to simply make a claim with your mouth to be a Christian; to confess is to give witness from the heart of what you know to be true. Those who confess Christ and are not afraid to do so before other men, will have their reward from Him.

PRAYER
May I make a true and sound profession, Lord, of Your Person, Your work of salvation, and of all You have done for me personally in my life. May I never deny You, never be ashamed to testify for You before men.

WORD OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: TUESDAY 16 JULY, 2024.

TOPIC: BE A DOER OF GOD'S WORD.

SCRIPTURE: But Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves .JAMES 1:22

FOOD FOR THE DAY: obeying God's word makes you a champion on earth.

To be a doer of the word is to live above sin and satan. Studying and obeying the word of God makes us reign and shine on earth. The word of God is powerful.

God's word is a very powerful software we need to download in our hearts for great exploit, because the word is our daily manual for living a successful life on earth

Joshua 1:8 says
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth; But thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do all that is written : for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success"

As a child of God our success lies in doing or obeying the word of God. To obey God's word is to standout in life. The secret behind every great genuine men of God in this kingdom is doing or obeying the word of God.

If you want your life to please God, be a doer of his word. Make God's word your spiritual food because without it you can not grow spiritually.

The more you do the word, the more you know God, and the more you know God, the more you do great exploit.

Do not be a hearer of the word only, practice the word. Is one thing to read or listening to the word of God and is another thing to put it into practice.

Do you want to be a man or woman of wisdom? Be a doer of God's word.

NOTE THIS: obeying God's word makes you a champion on earth.

PRAYER

Oh Lord give me grace to be a doer of your word in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: in the name of Jesus Christ, receive grace of obedience.

VERSE
John 8:12 (KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

INSPIRATION
Our hubris of trying to control every inch of our lives is in some sense natural. It is not at all unusual to try and safeguard ourselves from danger and the unknown. The more control we feel we might be able to wrest from a situation, (or others), the easier our lives will be. But, in matters of the spirit, we are not leaders. We cannot be masters of our fates in the way we wish. Rather, we are followers, we are disciples who need the word and light of the Lord God and His only begotten Son to guide us. No man in front of God is thus a master, for we are all His children, in need of compassion and care.

PRAYER
Lord my Master and Heavenly Father, help me heed the words of Your Son and Savior, help me see that He is Your light, come down to the world to guide mankind. Redeem me from my darkness by showing me that I am like a lamb, yearning for Your love and guidance, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Romans 6:13 (KJV) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

INSPIRATION
Every single part of us should be dedicated to godliness and righteousness. We should never let any of our thoughts, gifts, or talents profit the enemy and his kingdom of darkness. From the job that you work in to the workouts you do, make sure that they give glory to God.

PRAYER
Dear God, I commit all my thoughts, gifts, talents, and activities into your hands. Lord, may you show me the ones that do not bring glory to your name and may you help me only do the ones that reflect you in your true light. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Psalms 34:18 (KJV) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

INSPIRATION

You will experience loss and betrayal. There will be times when you feel brokenhearted. We live in a fallen world, so it is expected that we will experience pain and hurt. However, those who believe in the Lord will find relief in him. The Bible tells us He is close to those who are brokenhearted and He saves those who feel crushed in spirit. When you are hurting, call out to Jesus. He is always faithful and He will give you peace.

PRAYER

Dear God, I am brokenhearted. I am overwhelmed with sadness. You understand pain as Your son suffered on the cross – be near me, O Lord. But, Father, I know I can call on You and You will give me peace and rest. You see my pain and You will give me the strength I need to overcome this trial. Turn my mourning into gladness, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

VERSE
Psalms 34:8 (KJV) O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

INSPIRATION
Experience alone can teach us certain things. We learn more of the sweetness of honey by tasting it than by reading any number of books about it. So with the goodness of God. We may read endless books of theology and devotion, and constantly meditate on the Bible, but until we actually experience God ourselves we will not really understand His goodness. So David exhorts us to taste, to try God, to experience Him. How can we do this? The answer is in this same verse – by believing Him. Faith enables us to experience God’s goodness (Matt 9:29; 21:22; Mark 11:24; Heb 11:6).
Once we become aware of God’s love and his faithfulness in our lives, it is very hard for us to try and turn back. Why would one want to leave the source of their peace and their joy? Once you become knowledgeable of God’s graciousness and His mercy, you will experience a conviction that will keep you stayed on Him.

PRAYER
Dear God, I can confidently say that I have tasted of Your goodness and I have known of Your love and I am convinced that there is no one and nothing that can replicate what You have given. My heart is sold out to You, Father, and no one else. I treasure Your love in my heart, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Psalms 118:5-6 (KJV) I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

INSPIRATION
Remember the childhood phrase, “Sticks and stones an hurt my bones but words can never hurt me?” Now think about how often we are hurt by the words of another person. Most of us are very sensitive towards the words and actions of other people, rarely seeking refuge in the love of God. Next time someone does something that hurts you, focus on God’s love instead of the evil thoughts that can easily follow these times. Gradually, God’s love will set you free.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for all that you have done for me. I thank you for loving me and helping me understand what love is. Strengthen me in times that are difficult, aiding me when I am hurt so that I can love even my enemies. I know that through you, all things are possible, and I humbly ask that you help me grow with you in life’s journey. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Acts 8:4 (KJV) Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

INSPIRATION

Saul, who would become soon the Apostle "Paul," was persecuting the Church of God and causing the disciples of Christ to be scattered abroad. They had, thus far, mostly remained in Jerusalem, though they had the Great Commission from the ascending Christ to go into all the world with the Gospel. God used even persecution to spread the Gospel to new lands.

PRAYER

O Lord, You truly work in mysterious ways to perform Your wonders. Your plans are not what we would have chosen, but You show their glory and wisdom time and again to our wondering eyes. You can use a bad thing for good. All things that occur are a part of Your plan, for You are the Ruler of all history. We praise You for Your wisdom and rejoice in Your work! Amen

Joshua 4:23-24 (KJV) For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.

INSPIRATION

God has proven His power and might many times over within the Bible. This power is to be feared by all those who court His wraith or seek to injure Him, yet for the faithful, we have nothing to fear, for we know God to be on our side, kind and merciful towards all those who seek His light and guidance. All ye faithful, do not fear God but exalt His name!

PRAYER

Almighty Heavenly Father, I pray for You to show mercy upon all who praise Your name and works. For You are our master and savior and all-powerful creator. Let me not fear You, as unbelievers who seek our injury might, but know that You are on my side through Your miracles and mercy. I implore You once more Lord, show us mercy in Your light! Amen.

Philippians 2:9 (KJV) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

INSPIRATION

Jesus, as a result of the sacrifice he made, leaving his place in heaven for the sake of mankind, was highly rewarded by God, the Father, when his work was done. We, too, will receive rewards for the work we do as Christians. We should strive to do our best in our heavenly work, the same way we put effort into our earthly work, looking forward to the reward God will grant us – provided everything we did was done with a genuine heart.

PRAYER

Dear God, I pray that in everything I do for you, may you see nothing but excellence. Lord, may I take your work just as seriously as I take the work I do on earth. I know that your work is of much more value and I desire to show you this. May I do everything with a genuine heart and never for the approval of man. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
