[3]When His lamp shone above and upon my head and by His light I walked through darkness; (Mathews 27:29)

1 Peter 5:4》And when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive the Crown of glory that will never fade away.

VERSE
Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

INSPIRATION
There is nothing the devil tries that will be able to sn**ch you out of God’s hand. He will try to attack you with all kinds of weapons and he will use people to try and bring you down with harsh words and damaging untruths. But none of these attacks of the enemy will ever be able to prevail against you. Not while God, your Father, is still around. Not ever.

PRAYER
Dear God, I thank You for the assurance You have given me that no matter what may happen or come my way, You will always be there to protect me and help me overcome the wiles of the enemy. Lord, I know that the devil will try time and time again to bring me down but I am not shaken, for You are my refuge. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

VERSE
James 1:2-3 (KJV) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

INSPIRATION
“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” When it comes to a test of faith, this quote rings true. Challenges can be met with excitement or anxiety. Life can always be viewed as a gift, although it can be very difficult to think of it like this when times are tough. With practice, devotion, and faith, it gets easier with each challenge overcome.

PRAYER
O Heavenly Father, give me the strength and resolve to face life’s difficulties with a faithful heart. I ask that you strengthen my devotion to you with each hurdle that I pass, knowing that it was you that helped me over. When the path seems too challenging to continue, help remind me that the righteous path is one that leads to heaven. For your glory, I ask these things in your holy name. Amen.

VERSE
Psalms 3:3 (KJV) But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

INSPIRATION
Jesus is the Lord’s truth made flesh for all of mankind. This flesh, consecrated on the cross, should not be mistaken as being weak. For upon Christ’s resurrection was it made true and everlasting. His flesh has endured throughout the ages for each and every Christian. Acceptance of it ensures our protection as one of God’s children.

PRAYER
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth and all that is holy, I lift my head to thee Lord, in thanks, praise and glory. Your word is my truth and my shield, protecting me from all that is unholy. Grant me thus, a place within your Heavenly Kingdom, as I accept you into my heart and soul. For your word is my truth and my shield, defending me with light against all that is infernal. Amen.

VERSE
Titus 2:11-12 (KJV) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

INSPIRATION
As Christians, we know of the grace that God has shared with us freely so that we may be able to overcome sin. We have a part to play too, in taking action where need be. God has given us all we need to live uprightly, but it is our responsibility to live it out. Godliness should always be our standard.

PRAYER
Dear God, I ask that you help me to always act in the right manner. Father, I desire to be godly in all my ways and I know that you have given me all I need in order to do so. Lord, may you help me in times where it seems like I am straying; guide me back to your way, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

VERSE
Luke 2:4-5 (KJV) And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

INSPIRATION
It’s amazing to think that the son of God came from a family that appeared to be so normal – a carpenter and his wife. Jesus’ birth was also not what one would have expected for the son of God. He was born in a manger. But look at what came from Him. He grew to be Jesus Christ, and He fulfilled the Scriptures. We have eternal life because of this Savior, who did not appear to be one to the people around Him. Thank God for the knowledge and understanding you have of who Jesus Christ is.

PRAYER
Dear God, I am grateful that I have come to an understanding on who you are and who your son, Jesus Christ is. Lord, to anyone in those times they may not have realized what was happening, but I am grateful that I have become a partaker of that sacrifice that happened all those years ago. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

VERSE
Ephesians 1:9-10 (KJV) Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

INSPIRATION
In the early Testament, God often appears as mysterious to His children, especially remaining obscure for unbelievers, whilst also testing the faiths of our forbearers. To this day, for believers, His depth and heights surpass our knowledge. Though God’s everlasting presence and love were evident from Genesis onwards, this mystery was once and for all united through Christ, God’s word made flesh.

PRAYER
Lord my Father, blessed am I to have received Your Gospels in the word made flesh through Your only begotten Son. With our earthly souls mired in soil and sin, may praise be heaped upon Him; in Christ, for showing us the route to Your Heavenly home. For showing us a way to salvation, and opening our hearts to the Holy Spirit which moves through all things. In uniting us with You, Lord, my Father, my Heavenly Father. Amen.

VERSE

Proverbs 31:9 (KJV) Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

INSPIRATION

When it comes to judging situations, we should never be partial in our reasoning. If we try to favor one party, instead of being just, we are doing a great injustice to the wronged person, and we are also doing a great disservice to ourselves as children of God. Be fair in every situation and strive to do the right thing. There is no honor in partiality.

PRAYER

Dear God, I ask for your wisdom when I am asked to mediate situations. Lord, may I never be swayed by money, or anything else that could cause me to be partial. May my reasoning be just and pleasing before you, and may it be the truth I speak and nothing else, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

(VERSE)
Micah 6:8 (KJV) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

(INSPIRATION)
Does God ask too much of us? At times it may seem impossible to live the way that He wants us to, but is it really so difficult to love our neighbors? To act justly? To be humble? Stop and think about which one is actually more difficult: living as God intends, with faith, mercy, and love, or a life without them.

(PRAYER)
Forgive me, O Lord, for not always living in a way that is meaningful in Your eyes. Help us to walk humbly by Your side, pick us up when we fall, and do the same to others on their journey. I will live as You command and leave everything else to You, my God. I ask all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

((EASTER VIGIL))

(WE ARE FORTUNATE THATTHE PAIN OF DEATH FOR US IS LESSENED BECAUSE OF OUR BELIEF THAT WE WILL BE REUNITED WITH OUR LOVED ONES FOR ALL ETERNITY)

(VERSE)
John 19:41-42 (KJV) Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

(INSPIRATION)
Saturday was the Sabbath and a very difficult one for Mary, the apostles and the disciples because Jesus had died. Jesus had been buried without the traditional burial rites because it was too late in the day when he was taken down from the cross for them to perform them as the Sabbath was about to begin. They had no idea that when the women returned to the tomb on the first day of the week, they would find that Jesus wasn’t there. I can only imagine what they must have been thinking. They had felt so full of hope! They had believed! What they hadn’t understood, was everything Jesus had told them regarding his death and resurrection. I vividly remember when my son died. He had been visiting his sister in another state and we had to wait until his body was released and he could be returned for burial. Those days of waiting were the hardest for all of us. Once we saw him, we could say goodbye; we had the rituals of wake and funeral and burial. They weren’t easy times but performing the rituals brought a certain amount of peace. They were also reminders of our shared belief in the resurrection. This was something the apostles didn’t have. Yet, they knew that the burial rituals would bring them some peace as well, but they would have to wait until after the Sabbath. We can only imagine how their despair turned to joy the next morning. We are fortunate that the pain of death for us is lessened because of our belief that we will be reunited with our loved ones for all eternity.

(PRAYER)
Lord, how difficult this day of waiting must have been for those who loved you. Thank you for the gift you have given us to know that we will be with you and those we love in the eternal kingdom of heaven. Amen
