You can’t bless what God has not blessed…

As a people we love and do feel safe with rules, dos and don’ts. However when Jesus left his disciples he did not leave them with a comprehensive set of dos and don’ts but he left them with the Holy Spirit. Even in instances where Jesus gave out some rules he still said he had a lot of other thing to say, “but when the spirit of truth has come, he shall good you into all truth. He brings Gods law writen in our hearts. He is the Law of the spirit of life. He speaks and guide us into whatever God wants us to do in that spur of the moment. As believers our actions should not be based on dos or don’ts but they should be based on what the Holy Spirit is saying to us in that moment. Thats why Paul did not say “as many as follow Gods set of rules” but that “as a many as are led by the Holy Spirit”, they are the children of God.

The Holy Spirit in his infinite wisdom can tell one person to do one thing and got us the other person from doing the same thing. Hence the importance of every believer to have the Holy Spirit, to listen to the Holy Spirit and obey him.

In Acts 16:6-7. The same Holy Spirit that sent and commissioned Paul to preach the Gospel also stopped him from preaching in the province of Asia and Bithynia.

Remember also that the same God who said freely you have received freely give, also said those who preach the gospel shall live (derive their livelihood) from the gospel.

What’s important for all children of God, including the preacher and the musician etc, is to be sure that what ever you are doing is in line with what the Holy Spirit has told you.

Walk in the spirit and you shall not gratify the misdeeds of the sinful nature. And as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the children of God.
