Treasurer Seminar Held at Kanyama Central Church
By Maimbo Edgar

The Kanyama Mission District successfully conducted a Treasurer Seminar on 9 May 2026 at Kanyama Central Church. The seminar was organized by the Lusaka Conference of Seventh-day Adventists with the aim of strengthening accountability, transparency, and effective financial management within churches across the district.

Church treasurers, church leaders, and members from different congregations attended the seminar, where they received training on proper record keeping, financial reporting, stewardship, and treasury responsibilities. Participants were encouraged to uphold integrity, honesty, and responsibility in handling church resources and finances.

During the seminar, the Chief Financial Officer of the Lusaka Conference, Chile Habuyani Kabunda, announced that three congregations would begin using hard copy receipt books in their financial operations. The congregations recognized and congratulated for this development were Bethsaida Church, Philadelphia Church, and Jopa Church.

The seminar was described as highly informative and beneficial, equipping church treasurers with valuable knowledge and practical skills needed for effective financial administration in support of the church mission.

The event also highlighted the importance of unity, accountability, and faithful stewardship in advancing the work of the church within the Kanyama Mission District and beyond.

Faith in Action: Adventist Men Donate Medical Support Equipment to Kanyama Hospital

KANYAMA, LUSAKA — May 2, 2026

In a remarkable demonstration of faith, compassion, and community service, the Adventist Men of Kanyama Mission District on Saturday donated medical support equipment worth K5,843 to Kanyama Level One Hospital, reaffirming their commitment to serving humanity through practical ministry.

The donation, which included two 40-litre portable water boilers and a digital weighing scale, was officially handed over during a ceremony attended by church members, hospital staff, and community representatives.

The equipment is expected to significantly improve daily hospital operations, particularly in patient care, sanitation, and medical assessment. The water boilers will provide a reliable supply of hot water for essential medical and hygiene purposes, while the digital scale will support accurate patient monitoring.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Adventist Men President Mike Sakala said the donation was made possible through the unity, sacrifice, and generosity of members across Kanyama Mission District.

«“This is our way of giving back to the community we serve. As Adventist Men, we believe faith must be demonstrated through action. We are grateful to every member who contributed toward making this initiative a success,” he said.»

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, representative Blessing expressed sincere gratitude to the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the timely support.

«“We are deeply thankful for this donation. These items will greatly improve our service delivery and help us meet some of the daily challenges we face in caring for patients. Partnerships like this strengthen healthcare in our community,” Blessing said.»

The event highlighted the growing partnership between faith-based organizations and public health institutions in addressing community needs.

As prayers were offered and smiles filled the gathering, the ceremony became more than a handover—it became a testimony of what can be achieved when faith meets service.

The Adventist Men of Kanyama Mission District have pledged to continue supporting community initiatives that uplift lives and bring hope where it is needed most.
