What is Holy Communion, and why do we celebrate it? Whether you’ve taken part a hundred times or are just curious about what it means, we invite you to experience this special service with us this weekend.

​At its heart, Holy Communion (also called the Lord’s Supper) is a beautiful, sacred tradition passed down for centuries. Here is what it’s all about:

​What is it? It’s a symbolic meal of bread and cup (juice or wine), representing the body and blood of Jesus Christ. It mimics the "Last Supper" Jesus shared with His disciples before the crucifixion. ​Why do we do it? ​To Remember: Jesus explicitly said, "Do this in remembrance of me." It focuses our hearts on His sacrifice, love, and grace. ​To Connect: It unites us as a community. When we share the bread and the cup, we reflect on our shared faith and our bond with one another. ​To Refresh: It’s a moment to pause, reflect, ask for forgiveness, and leave feeling spiritually renewed.

​No matter where you are on your faith journey, there is a place for you at the table. Come as you are, bring a friend, and let’s grow together.

Psalm 16:4 — “Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god…”

David reminds us that whatever takes the place of God in our hearts will eventually bring sorrow and emptiness. Many people chase after money, pleasure, status, or human approval, hoping to find peace and fulfillment. But true joy, security, and satisfaction are found only in the Lord. God does not want to limit us; He wants to protect us from the pain that comes from misplaced worship and misplaced trust.

When we keep God first, our hearts remain anchored in His peace, truth, and presence. Let us guard our devotion and remain faithful to the One who alone is worthy of our worship.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to keep You first in every area of my life. Guard my heart from idols and from trusting in things that cannot save or satisfy. Teach me to delight in Your presence and to walk faithfully with You every day. Fill my life with Your peace, wisdom, and joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
