VERSE
Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
-- 2 Corinthians 3:12-13
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
We can trust Jesus: He's been revealed by God. We play "Reverse Hide and Seek" to show His glory can't be hidden. His ministry was no game, but a powerful demonstration of His eternal significance. He came to make us right with God. We can look to Him with confidence, for He has been uncovered.

VERSE
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
-- James 5:16
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
Talking to God doesn't have to be complicated. Simple, heartfelt prayers are all that's needed to get His attention. We can be tempted to make our prayers more elaborate, but God just wants us to be honest and open with Him. Let's not try to impress Him with our words, but instead focus on having a genuine conversation with Him.

VERSE
Philippians 4:12-13 (KJV) I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

INSPIRATION
One of the most important things we should learn, as Christians, is to be content. We will face periods in our lives where we will have plenty and we will face times of lack. Neither situations reflect on God’s character. God’s character is revealed in our endurance and our contentment because of our trust in Him. Don’t be moved by your situations. Be content in God. He has all your needs covered.

PRAYER
Dear God, I thank you that you are the source of my strength in every situation I go through. I know I can endure anything because Christ is my strength. May I never forget this, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

VERSE

Leviticus 10:3 (KJV) Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

INSPIRATION

Aaron's sons had offered "strange fire," unauthorized incense, before Jehovah-God and had been consumed by the fire of God before the people of Israel. We are not to worship God in any way we please but according to the manner he has prescribed. We are to keep the worship of God holy, not intermix it with the ways of the world.

PRAYER

Help me to worship you aright, O God. Teach my heart to hallow your holy name. Teach my lips to praise you according to truth. Teach my hands to work for your glory and my feet to go where you send me. Make all my life an act of worship of you, O Lord. Amen

VERSE

Galatians 6:7-8 (KJV) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

INSPIRATION

Good things generally happen to good people. If you commit good deeds, think good thoughts, and surround yourself with good people, in time you will be rewarded with a good harvest. However, it doesn’t take many rotten apples to ruin a harvest, so think carefully with, how you spend your energy, how you spend your time, and who you spend it with.

PRAYER

Everyday we are surrounded with the beautiful reminders of your creation God: flowers, trees, animals, people. I pray that you make me work, to use me as a vessel to blossom and spread my gifts to the world, spreading your joy to all that encounter me, just as you did with Jesus Christ. His eternal harvest is one that keeps on giving, and I pray that you help me give all that I can in my time. Amen.

(((THE LORD BE WITH YOU)))

((JESUS CHRIST WILL NOT LET US GO WITHOUT HIS GUIDANCE EITHER))

(VERSE)
Acts 18:9-11 (KJV) Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.
And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

(INSPIRATION)
Paul was in Corinth at this time and many of the Gentiles were becoming Christian. Paul stayed in Corinth teaching about Jesus for a year and a half. He got to know the Corinthians well and that may account for the two long letters he sent them. Some parts of the letters praised them for the good work they were doing, and some chastised them for falling back into old ways or for arguing among themselves as to which of them had greater gifts from God. It is in these letters to the Corinthians that we learn of God’s plan to distribute the gifts needed for the community of believers to thrive if each person uses his or her gifts for the benefit of others. He teaches them about the importance of fellowship but not to take that time as a chance for a free meal at the expense of others. Paul knew that God was with him in his preaching and his teachings. As God had promised Samuel and the prophets that he would give them the words to say and they trusted God, Paul also trusted in God. He did run into problems with some of the Jewish leaders who felt that he was giving false teachings about how to worship God that was contrary to Jewish Law but God was present in this as well. It was not long after this that he left Corinth and headed to Syria. Jesus will not let us go without his guidance either. When we give witness to our faith, God will give us the words we need and the courage to share them. We, too, are disciples because of our baptism.

(PRAYER)
Lord Jesus Christ, your message was passed along to gentiles as well as to the jews. You wanted all to of the great gift of eternal life. Help us in our lives to share the joy that this promise has brought to us. Amen

((THE SPIRIT OF PETER))

(LET PETER AND THE EARLY APOSTLES BE OUR MODELS)

(VERSE)
Acts 4:8-10 (KJV) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

(INSPIRATION)
Peter was so much bolder following Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit. He and some of the other apostles would walk around the temple area speaking about Jesus and his teachings concerning the resurrection from the dead. The leaders of the community were not happy. They really wanted to arrest them, but because of events like the healing of a crippled man they were afraid of what the people might do. Later, Peter, John and others would be arrested and beaten for continuing to preach about Jesus. There has always been an element of danger for those who have worked to spread the Gospel. In the early days, the disciples had to worry about persecution from the Romans as well as from others who did not want their power threatened. There are still men and women today who go into areas that are dangerous to preach the Good News of Jesus and salvation. Men and women have been murdered, women have been r***d, and churches destroyed by those who fear Jesus’ message of love. In spite of this, Christianity continues to spread. Whether we are threatened for our beliefs or not, whether we are missionaries to far off lands, or only in our own households, it takes courage to live Jesus’ message of love and justice in today’s world. The message remains the same, and the fear of powerful people that this message could make them lose some of that power will always be there. Let Peter and the early apostles be our models. The Holy Spirit was on their side, and will also be with us.

(PRAYER)
Lord, we thank you for the courage of all those who faced persecution and danger to bring your message of salvation to the whole world. Please give us the courage to face the world that does not want to hear your message and witness to it boldly. Amen

(VERSE)
1 Samuel 10:27 (KJV) But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.

(INSPIRATION)
When God had the prophet Samuel anoint Saul king over Israel, it was because of the people rebelling against Jehovah their king and wanting to be like the surrounding nations. But God allowed them to have Saul. But the idolaters weren't satisfied with even that, and despised Saul and put no confidence in him.

(PRAYER)
So often, people complain about Your decisions, Lord, and then when You let them have their own way, they find they are still not satisfied. Instead, may I be content with Your will and Your ways. May I not question Your wisdom or Your goodwill toward me in all of Your decisions concerning me throughout life. Amen
