Preserving Unity through Spiritual Discipline.

Speaker: Bishop S. Banda

Scripture: Ephesians 4:3

The Gift of Unity

Unity is not something we create ourselves; it is a gift given to us through the Holy Spirit. However, while we do not "make" unity, it takes intentional effort to maintain and keep it.

The Power of Prayer & Fasting

We "charge" and strengthen our spiritual unity through the disciplines of prayer and fasting. Bishop Banda shared several key insights on fasting:

A Divine Invitation: Fasting is a spiritual call to come before the Lord.

Spiritual Vision: It serves to discipline the flesh and sharpen our spiritual focus and vision.

A Tool for Battle: Certain spiritual battles can only be won through the combination of prayer and fasting.

Internal Change: Fasting is not meant to change God’s mind, but to change us. We must also be prepared for the fact that sometimes God’s answer will still be "no".

Biblical Examples of Fasting

Absolute Fasting (Esther 4:16): One must be led by the Spirit of God to undertake this.

Normal Fasting (Matthew 4): Focused on spiritual alignment and focus.

SUNDAY SERVICE
” Repair a crack of sacrilege”
Speaker: BISHOP .S. BANDA
Text: Daniel 5:1-6

“King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with them. While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them. So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the temple of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them. As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.
Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote. His face turned pale and he was so frightened that his legs became weak and his knees were knocking”

Daniel 5:11-12
“ There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods.Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners. 12 He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”

Daniel 5:22-23
“But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways”

Daniel 5:31
“and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.”

* Misuse of the temple vessel
- Temple vessels aren’t common but are set apart for Gods use
- Human vessels are also set apart, examples of human vessels are pastors
- Touching the anointed vessels that are set apart is a sin of saglage
- The church is a temple vessel, set apart, a Holy building and yet others steal in church, it is wrong
- The altar isn’t a common place, it’s a Holy ground. It’s set apart so the word of God can be ministered
- Familiarity can make you miss your blessings. Familiarity towards the Lords table is a sin
- Tithe is a temple vessel

* Mistakes to avoid
- Don’t personalize things that belong or are concentrated to the lord. Even if it was you who gave it, doesn’t mean you should personalize them.
- Avoid being disrespectful
- Pride can bring Gods wrath

- What do people say about your character ?
- How is your character ?
- Respect isn’t demanded it is earned. When people see your character they’ll respect you.
- God can remove people from their position, regardless of what position you have.

Child Dedication Sunday‼️

This Sunday, we joyfully gather to dedicate our precious children to the Lord. Baby Dedication is a special moment where parents commit their children to God and seek His guidance, grace, and protection over their lives. We invite the church family to come and stand with these families in prayer as we acknowledge that children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3).

📍 Venue: Longacres Tabernacle
🕘 Time: During the Sunday Service

Come and celebrate this beautiful milestone with us as we dedicate our children into God’s loving hands. 🙏💙👶
