Sermon Title: Facing Obstacles with Faith and Prayer
Preacher: Pastor Majibu
The Power of Prayer and Mercy
When we face the trials of life, prayer is our most powerful tool because it moves the heart of God to show us mercy. As we approach Him, we are encouraged by the scripture in Hebrews 4:16, which invites us to come boldly to the throne of grace to find grace and mercy in our time of need.
II. Identifying the True Source of Obstacles
Often, we look for external enemies when we face a lack of breakthrough, but the source of our struggles may be closer than we think:
Personal Actions: We must consider if our own mistakes or wrongdoings are hindering our progress, rather than assuming it is the work of external spiritual forces like witches or demons.
The Example of David: In 2 Samuel 24:14, King David made a significant mistake that angered God and affected many people. Recognizing his error, David sought the mercy of God rather than falling into the hands of men.
Generational Patterns: Frustration in life can sometimes be caused by "generational gates" or curses. These are patterns where children repeat the failures of their fathers, such as family instability, immorality, injustice, theft, or drug abuse.
Inherited Problems: These struggles can be inherited within families, leading to a cycle of hardship.
III. The Remedy: Seeking God’s Mercy
The solution to these deep-seated problems is a sincere cry to the Lord:
If you cry out for God’s mercy, He is faithful to hear your cry and bring a breakthrough into your life.
When you seek His mercy, He provides a peace that allows everything in your life to become well again.
IV. The Benefits of Prayer: Divine Intervention
When God begins to fight on your behalf, breakthroughs are guaranteed. One of the primary benefits of prayer is the activation of heavenly help:
Angelic Assistance: When you pray, God sends His angels to fight for you and deliver you from your enemies.
This is clearly seen in the Book

Overcoming obstacles with faith and prayer 🤲

12/01/2026

PREACHER: PASTOR MAJIBU
Sermon Summary: Overcoming Obstacles with Faith and Prayer
Date: January 11, 2026
Theme: Facing Obstacles with Faith and Prayer
Main Reading: Jeremiah 29:11
1. Understanding the Obstacle
An obstacle is defined as something hindering a believer from receiving blessings or changing levels in life.
• The Divine Plan: God’s plans for believers are already established for their prosperity.
• The Opposition: The enemy (the devil) actively opposes you to prevent you from receiving these blessings.
• The Spiritual Reality: You cannot obtain blessings easily because the devil has plans to create disturbances in your path. This spiritual warfare is not new; it has existed since ancient times.
2. The Call to Spiritual Warfare
A child of God must rise and fight spiritual battles to possess their inheritance.
• Possession: We are called to fight as children of God to take hold of our possessions.
• Identification: You must identify exactly where the enemy is blocking your success.
• Persistence: The devil will always fight to ensure you do not succeed, but you must persist.
3. Weapons of Our Warfare
When obstacles resist, believers must utilize specific spiritual tools:
• Faith: Obstacles can be removed through faith.
• Prayer: Prayer is the primary weapon of a believer to fight the enemy.
• Fasting: If an obstacle resists, you must engage in prayer and fasting.
• Anointing: Believers require a high level of anointing to break through certain limits.
• Empowerment: According to Isaiah 58:6-8, prayer and fasting empower a believer to break the enemy’s activities in their life.
4. Why God Desires Us to Pray
• Seeking Help: Prayer allows us to seek help from God to intervene in our limitations and receive a breakthrough (Hebrews 4:16).
• The Hindrance of Sin: According to Isaiah 59:1-2, sin or iniquity hinders God from helping mankind because He hates sin.
