Emmanuel Chileshe writes
CHRISTIANS ARE A WAITING PEOPLE.
Philippians 3:20-21
When Paul write to the church is Philippians while in prison, he reminds them of this serious issues about waiting not for anything but Christ 's return.
When we talk about waiting, we are not just waiting for elections or anything temporal. Our main waiting is for Jesus. The world waits for a politician to fix everything. We wait for a Person—Jesus Christ to return and make everything new.1 Thess 1:10 “to wait for his Son from heaven.”
This hope keeps us from despair when things on earth are messy. It keeps us from panic when news is bad. Because our King is coming back. And when He comes, He’s not coming to visit. He’s coming to take us home.
A reminder from 2 Cor 5:20 “We are ambassadors for Christ.” An ambassador doesn’t fight for the host country. He represents his home country with honor.
My conclusion is this:
An ambassador living in another country still carries his home passport. He eats the local food, he learns the language, he respects the laws. But when trouble comes, he runs to the embassy.
To the believers in Zambia, I want to say this world is not our embassy. Heaven is. And our Embassy is open 24/7 through prayer. One day the King Himself will come and take us home. And He will wipe every tear.
Let us not fight for something that is temporal. Our citizenship is heaven.
Blessings 🙏
