- But God is faith in all situations

THEME:Our God is a jealous God
• TEXT: 1 kings 3:16-28 ex 20:3-5 jere 1:1-5

JEALOUS is an complex emotional reaction as a result of a perceived real or potential interference in the interpersonal relationship.
• When something tries to come between a person's relationship with God, that's jealousy.
• In the past, people used to idolize small gods or shrines, putting them above the one true God. Today, we've replaced those idols with modern distractions like our phones.
There are two types of jealous
There is a:
[1] positive kind of jealous
[2] Negative kind of jealous
• Negative types of jealous that leads to death, contains selfishness thoughts and hurt.
• Positive kind of jealous is one that contains pure love or his God in it.
• If we read in the text 1 kings 3:16-28 we discover that The true mother, filled with love and concern for her child, begged Solomon to give the baby to the other woman, rather than see him harmed. She had a positive kind of jealous.
• Jealousy can be seen in this story through the eyes of the false mother, who was driven by envy and a desire to possess something that wasn't hers. She was willing to go to great lengths, even to the point of harming the child, to satisfy her own selfish desires.
• God is jealous about your life. God doesn't want to share your life with some or something
• The attributes of God's jealousy include:

- God desires to be number one in our lives. He wants to be the first thing that comes to mind.
- God's jealousy is patient, but it doesn't forgive easily.

Prayer point: Dear God, remove any negative form of jealousy and replace it with a positive, godly jealousy that prioritizes our relationship with you.

What is Grace of God?
[1] God's unmerited favor means it's a gift that's not earned or deserved by human effort or good works.
[2] It's God's enabling power.
-According to the law of Moses, the wages of sin is death. But Jesus paid the price on the cross. Jesus died for sin, and that's the grace of God.
-The man who died on the cross did not die a religious death; it was by His grace.
-God's unmerited favor is sufficient.
-Take Mary, for example. She was not the only virgin woman in the area, but by the grace of God, she was chosen.
-A person receiving an unexpected blessing or opportunity, not because of their own efforts, but by God's grace.
-A person struggling with addiction or sin, who receives grace and starts anew, leaving their old life behind.
Prayer point
1. Dear God, thank you for your unmerited favor and grace in my life.
2. Lord, help me to understand and receive your grace in every area of my life.
