Peace Requires a Sober Mind

“When you are drunk, your thinking capabilities are dethroned. Be sober and be vigilant. Let us relax.”

These were the timely words of Pr. Evans Manjimela the Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Director of the Southern Zambia Union Conference, speaking on ZNBC today as he called for peace, restraint, and responsible conduct before, during, and after the elections.

Let us choose peace. Let us reject violence. Let us protect Zambia. 🇿🇲

🇿🇲 President Hichilema donates a bus and K200,000 to Adventist Youth

President Hakainde Hichilema of the Republic of Zambia has donated K200,000 (about USD 11,200) and a bus to the Lusaka Conference Adventist Youth Ministries in support of community service and mission, an announcement made at the Lusaka Conference Big Sabbath Fellowship at Blessings Centre on 25 July 2026.

Thousands of young people gathered under the theme "Driven by Prayer, Moved by Faith," praying for national peace and unity.

Pioneer Ministerial Visit Honors Pastor Dominic Kwalombota Siyawa

The Pioneer Ministerial Visit reached an emotional highlight as the Woodlands Conference leadership visited Pastor Dominic Kwalombota Siyawa, whose remarkable life of sacrifice and faithful service continues to inspire generations of ministers.

In his message of encouragement, Woodlands Conference President Dr. Daniel Chuunga reflected on the biblical truth that while some trust in horses and chariots, God’s people place their trust in the Lord. He commended Pastor Siyawa for exemplifying unwavering faith and dependence on God throughout his ministry.

Pastor Siyawa is fondly remembered as a humble and dedicated servant who faithfully ministered in some of the most challenging mission fields. He holds the rare distinction of serving in one district continuously for twelve years; an uncommon achievement in pastoral ministry. His commitment to the gospel often saw him spending nights in churches and, at times, under trees as he reached communities with the message of salvation. Although he was rarely transferred during his years of service, he embraced every assignment with contentment and steadfast devotion.

Responding to the visit, Pastor Siyawa reminded the officers and directors that ministry is ultimately service to God rather than to an office or institution.

“We are not working for the office; we are working for the Lord. Our reward comes from Him,” he said.

He encouraged the delegation to expect hardships and differences in ministry, emphasizing that such moments should lead God’s servants to prayer rather than resentment. He urged ministers to avoid holding grudges, to respect church leadership, and to recognize that effective ministry flourishes where there is order and godly leadership. At the same time, he cautioned against seeking positions of authority, encouraging leaders to patiently wait upon God to elevate them in His own time.

Concluding his counsel from Psalm 24:3, Pastor Siyawa challenged the delegation to pursue lives of holiness and faithfulness before God, reminding them that the greatest question is not whether people recognize their service, but whether the Lord sees and approves of their work.

The visit was marked by deep emotion as leaders reflected on a lifetime of extraordinary sacrifice, humility, and unwavering commitment to God’s mission, leaving a lasting impression on all who were present.

The Woodlands Conference office staff today paid a courtesy visit to one of its directors, Ms. Shelly Maimbo, in a show of Christian love, solidarity, and encouragement.

The delegation spent time in fellowship and prayer, reaffirming the Conference’s commitment to standing together as a family of faith during every season of life.

Woodlands Conference remains grateful for God’s sustaining grace and kindly invites members and friends to continue remembering Ms. Maimbo and her family in their prayers.

Southern Zambia Union Conference Hosts Women’s Ministries Congress
15-18 July, 2026

The Southern Zambia Union Conference is hosting its Women’s Ministries Congress at Mulungushi University in Kabwe under the inspiring theme, “Crowned with Purpose.”

The congress has drawn women from across the Union, with the Woodlands Conference represented by approximately 126 delegates. The gathering is characterized by vibrant worship, earnest prayer, inspiring Bible messages, and meaningful fellowship, providing a spiritually enriching experience for all participants.

Through the theme Crowned with Purpose, attendees are being reminded of their God-given identity, calling, and mission to serve with faith, excellence, and unwavering commitment in their families, churches, and communities.

Congratulations to Pastor Mainza Shimunzhila on Academic Achievement

The Woodlands Conference proudly congratulates Pastor Mainza Shimunzhila on successfully earning a Master of Divinity from the Adventist University of Africa (AUA).

This latest academic milestone further strengthens his commitment to gospel ministry and theological excellence. Pastor Shimunzhila previously obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Bugema University in Uganda, reflecting his unwavering dedication to both spiritual leadership and academic growth.

Pastor Shimunzhila is currently serving as the District Pastor for Golfview Mission District, where he continues to provide faithful pastoral leadership and nurture the spiritual growth of the congregations under his care.

The Woodlands Conference celebrates this remarkable achievement and extends its heartfelt congratulations. We pray that God will continue to bless and empower Pastor Shimunzhila as he faithfully serves His church and advances the mission of the gospel.

Pioneer Ministerial Visit Honors Pastor Shimukonka

The Pioneer Ministerial Visit also recognized Pastor Patnos Malambo Shimukonka, a respected church leader who faithfully served as Ministerial Director of the Central Zambia Conference (CZC). During his years of ministry, he played a pivotal role in mentoring and nurturing many pastors who continue to serve the Church with distinction today.

Sharing a message from Isaiah 49:15, Woodlands Conference President Dr. Daniel Chuunga highlighted God’s unfailing love and faithfulness toward His children. He commended Pastor Shimukonka for his enduring contribution to the growth of the ministry through his commitment to developing and encouraging fellow ministers.

Responding to the visit, Pastor Shimukonka expressed heartfelt appreciation and amazement that he had been remembered and honored in such a thoughtful manner. He thanked the Conference leadership for the gesture, describing it as both humbling and deeply encouraging, while reaffirming his continued commitment to God’s work through prayer and support for the ministry.
