THE DAY I TEXTED FIRST

It was a calm evening maybe it was the sunset, or just misplaced confidence but I texted first.
“Hey 🙂” short and sweet.

To be fair, she wasn’t just any girl. She was breathtaking. Her skin was like silk, her eyes sparkled like stolen stars, and her smile was capable of short-circuiting your brain. She was beauty in human form unreachable, unforgettable, unreal.

One minute passed. Nothing. Five minutes. Still nothing. Then "THE BLUE TICK" was the thing i saw.
My heart jumped. She saw it! I waited… silence.

I checked her status. She was online, laughing, posting memes while I was there rereading our chat like it held sacred knowledge.

Then i was “Typing…”

I sat up straight. My heart was racing. The message dropped:
“Hey, who’s this?”

Excuse me? After all the imaginary dates and mental wedding plans I wasn’t even saved?

I replied like a legend:
“Wrong number. Stay blessed.”

Since that day, I only text first if it’s Wi-Fi asking to connect.
