Episode 5
How do you plan on letting everyone know who you really are, she asked but I just keep my mouth closed until she asked again, "I have a wife three son's and relatives, seeing the cry really hurt me...", " really so this rich man does have a heart", I ignored that she interrupted me, " tomorrow will go back there and this time will stay there, I have an idea.", " what is the plan?" ," just follow through." I then turn on my side to sleep.
We arrived at the house in the morning, everyone was busy about doing everything I never expected, my oldest son Mark walked up to us and asked who we were but not to bring confusion I told him I once worked for he's father, from He's eyes I could tell he was to busy not to look into my words so he walked,I so My lawyer arriving at the gate, I guess the will would be read.
All the family members went into the house us inclusive, the room was filled with sorrow and grief as they tried to silence the moaners who eventually cameThrough. The lawyer was sandwiched by my first son, and my wife. The lawyer then spoke, " This will was written and signed by Christian Nyondo." Everyone was so silent the air made some noise because of the open windows. Then he started reading it. " Death is untimely, something all of us look forward to and I Christian Nyondo have made a lot of money and this is how I want it to be shared, Mark is here by give ownership of all the houses in Lusaka, two of my companies in the copperbelt plus 80% of my other assets. My wife, Kelvin, and Daniel will leave off with 20% of my assets." I was shocked at the will, clearly I did not write that. Mark is to arrogant and stupid to run my Company. " I did not write that!" SHALOM.
Monday morning I woke up and went for a run, it was my daily routine, go jogging while listening to country music then buy muffins on my way back, I deserved to spoil myself after burning all those calories. Then I would take a shower, have breakfast and then go for my lectures.
While having breakfast that morning I received a message from Eric, I hadn’t been able to get in touch with him since he left Sunday early morning.
“Hey babe, you back from your morning run? Had a long journey and a crazy night “
“Hi honey, just having breakfast and missing you…you’ll be back tomorrow right?” I texted back
“Missing you too babe but about coming tomorrow I can’t make any promises, we’ll see how the day will go “
“What? Babe, you have interviews” I couldn’t understand what was so important about this urgent trip.
“Trust me baby, what am working on is life changing, if I succeed I won’t even need that job” came a message from Eric and I frowned, first it was just a trip to know more about his background now he’s working on something life changing? Before I could reply another text came through.
“You better get to class … I’ll call you later in the evening” with a sigh I replied
“Love you too, talk later”
I didn’t like the fact that he was being vague about his trip but I would worry about that later, right now I had to get to class. Quickly finishing up my breakfast I put the plate in the sink and grabbed my bag then walked out locking the door behind me. The campus was just a ten minute walk from campus. As I was walking and listening to music my friend Daria joined me, she stayed in a boarding house not far from my place
“Hey girlfriend “she greeted happily and hugged me from the side
“Hey, how are you?” I asked her
“Am awesome, my weekend was great … how about yours?” she asked me
Before I could answer a tinted car pulled over right in front of us, the doors opened and a maiden came out with flowers followed by henry, oh gosh, I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.
“Princess, why are you walking like a commoner?” he asked, Daria was just looking on stunned.
I hurried to Henry and whispered
“Please don’t call me that, just use my name”
“Why not?” he was taken aback
“Please...just ...humor me, what brings you here?” I asked him
“I thought we might need to choose our attire for the ball, we have to match “he said and I slapped my forehead, I had forgotten that Arthur was hosting a ball to try and choose a bride and of course they all expected me to be on henry’s arm
“Can we discuss this later?” I spoke with clenched teeth
“Of course pin… shalom, of course my dear...how about I take you to campus?” he asked
“No, we will walk thank you “I said firmly and he slowly walked back in the car
As soon as he drove away Daria was on me.
“what the hell just happened? Is he really a prince or just a confused psycho? How do you know him?” she asked with excitement and I groaned, a part of me wanted to say that he was a psycho
“he is friends with my elder brother and he’s trying to set us up” I told her
“oh damn, you are so lucky, a real life prince “ she squealed
“am not interested…I have Eric remember?” I asked rhetorically
“I know, but he is a real life prince, and Eric is just...Eric…and he called you a princess, that’s so cool and sweet, you’re his princess and one day you will be his queen… do not forget me when you have that crown on your head” Daria was so excited and talking nonstop I could barely keep up. The worst thing was that she couldn’t stop talking, by the end of the day half my classmates knew that I was being set up with a prince. This was really really bad.
ERIC.
On Monday during the day Joshua took me to the secret training ground but nobody was there, they would come in the evening. Joshua felt guilty for having failed to protect the palace on the day of the attack and he wanted to make up for his failure by helping me reclaim the throne.
“Do you have any experience with fighting your majesty?” he asked me as he handed me a long sword.
“Actually yes, I did some boxing in high school and martial arts in college “I told him
“Martial arts? I am not familiar with that “he said and I smiled then showed him some moves
“that is impressive your majesty, you are a great warrior “ he said sounding proud , it was still weird being called majesty but no matter how many times I insisted on being called Eric they wouldn’t listen to me.
“Thanks… so what’s the plan?” I asked
“well my young majesty, seven days from now prince Arthur will be hosting a ball, he intends to choose a bride …with the festivities going on no one will suspect an attack and some of our men work in the palace, all we need is to capture the king and force him to give back the crown, the golden staff and the royal seal “
“But, even if we storm the palace they will just bring soldiers to fight us and we might be outnumbered “I pointed out
“Not with the king in our hands, they know that once King Liam dies there will be unrest in the empire, Arthur is not like his father, he will be content with one kingdom” said Joshua
After showing me some weapons and training for a few hours I went back home and took a bath then had my lunch, while I was eating I switched on my phone and found messages
“Dude, is it true that shalom is being set up with a prince by her brother”
“I hear shalom will marry a real prince, does that mean you’re now available?”
More messages came and I was confused, I couldn’t understand what was happening so I decided to call shalom but she wasn’t picking up, I was about to get angry when I looked at the time and realized that she was in class.
Patience was not one of my virtues and not knowing what was happening back home was killing me so I told Joshua to organize everyone and tell them I would return on the day of the ball and lead them in the coup, for now I had to go home and find out what was happening. I drove all night and by the time I reached home on Tuesday morning I was exhausted. I packed the car and grabbed my bag from the backseat then dragged my weary self upstairs.
When I got to the apartment shalom had already gone out for her morning run so I collapsed on the bed and fell asleep.
“look prince henry, I know what my father promised you but I cannot make any commitments or go shopping with you today, I have lectures “ shalom’s voice woke me up from my sleep, it sounded like she was in the living room coming to the bedroom “ we don’t have to match,.. just...wear black or white “ she said as she opened the door. When her eyes met mine she gasped and hang up the phone.
“got yourself a prince huh?” I asked and crossed my arms.

FIVE YEARS LATER.
“Am glad you finally decided to visit this side of the kingdom” said Liam as he held Kira’s hand and squeezed it gently. The two kingdoms had been made one but Kira couldn’t get herself to go to the other side
“yes, me too. Things seem different” she commented as the car drove by some new infrastructures
“well, since we’re one now I have been using the minerals from that side to develop this side” Liam informed her and put his hand on her stomach, she was now three months pregnant with their second child. Kira put her hand on top of his and smiled up at him, she couldn’t be any happier. The cars stopped at the market place and the royal family came out.
Arthur saw a little girl playing just next to her mother’s stall and pointed
“mother!” he grabbed kira’s hand” she has such pretty hair” he commented
“do you like her?” liam asked and Arthur nodded” we can talk to her family if you want, she is at a perfect age to start being groomed to be your bride”
“don’t even think about it” kira spoke out and looked at Arthur “listen to me son, you will not be marrying or engaging anyone until you’re old enough to even understand what love and commitment is “ she said to him “ do you understand me ?”
“yes mother “ Arthur responded and nodded
Liam chuckled and brought Kira closer, holding her waist and kissing her cheek.
“I see we haven’t gotten over that yet “he teased and she frowned at him.
“am over it, I just don’t want history to repeat itself” she said and sighed.” Anyway, you go to the palace and I’ll and visit my mother, I’ll be at the palace before sunset “she told him, she hadn’t visited her mother in five years but the mother had been visiting
“Alright my dear, am taking Arthur, it’s never too early to learn about governance and leadership” he said to her
“Don’t pressure him too much, if he gets bored and wants to play outside let him go, he’s just a kid” she said to him
“Okay, I hear you “he said and kissed her cheek then went back into the car.
With the men gone kira wanted to go back into the remaining car and be taken to her mother’s place but she saw a big shop selling beads, bracelets and wrappers. They looked so gorgeous she just had to go nearer and perhaps buy something for her mother. She stepped into te shop and the sales lady bowed, kira smiled at her and walked further in only to be met by a woman she never thought she would ever see again, the former queen mother, hakeem’s mother.
Suddenly kira became nervous as she walked towards her and bowed
“please don’t “ kira tried to stop her from bowing
“why shouldn’t I bow before our majesty the queen?” she asked with a hint of sarcasm
“please..just…its not necessary” kira insisted
“what...still feeling guilty? “the former queen spoke “ you had my family slaughtered like animals, amina, that poor thing had to run off pregnant and alone…and here you are, queen of the empire” she spoke out angrily and kira was stunned
“what are you talking about? ..hakeem went away with amina, I let him have his happily ever after and be with amina just like he always wanted “
“happily ever after?” she questioned with laughter “is that what you call being beheaded?” the former queen tried to push kira out but the guards intervened .
With a confused mind kira walked out of the shop and proceeded to see her mother, she was too absent minded to even listen to what her mother was saying, before she knew it the sun had set and she had to go back to the palace.
The palace had been remodeled and it looked really beautiful but she couldn’t even enjoy the view because she was still disturbed about her encounter at the market.the moment she arrived she requested to see liam in private and he went with her to the bedroom.
“is everything alright?” he asked noticing her foul mood
“I bumped into the queen…”
“which queen?’ asked a confused liam
“the former queen, hakeem’s mother. And she told me that you slaughtered her family like animals, hakeem included “ she confronted him
“it had to be done, that was the only way to keep my family safe” he said to her and she gasped, she had really wished that he would deny the accusations
“how could you?!” she yelled at him, tears threatening to fall
“they were a threat…if I had let them live they would have mobilized themselves and attacked, do you think hakeem would have hesitated to kill me?to kill Arthur ? it was a necessary evil” said liam defensively
“they were your family!” kira yelled
“no they were not, just because we shared a father it doesn’t make us family. I had to protect you, to protect my family and my kingdom”
Kira was enraged and frustrated, how could she had not known ths? Five years she had been with him and she had fallen in love with him. He had made her happy, he had kpt his promise and never took a second wife or mistress, how could she giver her children such a father? All she could see now was a merciless killer. And she knew that it had nothing to do with loving and protecting anyone, it was about power and revenge.
Frustrated, kira sat down on the bed.
“I have a headache, I need to rest” she said without even looking at him as he walked out of the room and she curled up into bed.
A few minutes later Arthur ran into the room.
“dinner’s ready mother “ he said to her and kira couldn’t help smiling at him
“am not hungry, you go and eat” she told him
“are you upset mummy?” he asked with a pout
“of course not, come here “ she gestured for him to get on the bed
“grandmother said I am a future king and should not be cuddling with my mother”he said
“you are just a boy , you have a lot of years ahead of you before yu become king, now come on I know you want to” she said and Arthur got on the bed
“grandmother said you are going to have a baby and if it’s a boy I have to be careful and fight because he might steal my crown” said Arthur as he laid down in his mother’s arms
“that’s not true , you should not fight with your siblings, you should protect them at all costs do you hear me?” Arthur nodded “ and stop listening to your grandmother” she told him. The thought of Arthur growing up power hungry and ready to kill anyone who challenged him scared her a lot, she had to make sure liam’s mother didn’t shape Arthur the way she had shaped liam. She didn’t even know who he was anymore.

"What do you mean you are in trouble?,this is good news I mean you and Martin have always wanted kids", Patricia said,"no you don't understand Patricia the problem is that I don't know if this is Martin's child or someone else", Theresa said in frustration,"wait wait,are you telling me you had unprotected with those people?", Patricia asked,"I know I was so stupid my friend,I really need your help","well first you better go for an HIV test my friend,Lord knows how many prostitutes those men slept with", Patricia said, Theresa was one in even more fear,"I don't know what am going to do","first we have to confirm that you are pregnant","what if I am?,I mean there's a chance that this baby isn't my husband's", Theresa was now nervous,what would Martin think it would shutter him completely, Patricia looked at her and couldn't help but laugh,"why are you laughing,this isn't funny","I'm sorry it's just that I can't believe you actually had live s*x with total strangers,that was very stupid", Patricia said still laughing,"I can't believe this,I thought you would help me but apparently you won't", Theresa got her bag to leave but Patricia stopped her,"look am sorry, listen we'll go see a doctor friend of mine, let's go", Patricia held Theresa's hand and they went out.
"Wow my friend you really hit the jack pot my friend, this car is nice", Patricia said admiring Theresa's new car,"Martha bought it for me",Theresa said,"I see you two are getting along now","I guess she has accepted the fact that Martin and I love each other", Theresa said and Patrick nodded her head while looking around the car.
AT MARTIN'S HOUSE
Meanwhile Martin was being checked by his personal doctor and friend mwinga,"where's your wife?",he asked,"I don't know,she said she'd be back soon,she's been acting strange these past few days,she's always absent minded,she almost burnt down the kitchen yesterday",Martin said,"what?,what happened?",mwinga asked as he exercised Martin's legs,"well she was cooking eggs and got lost in thought she didn't notice they were burning, luckily I came on time",Martin said,"I'm really worried,she doesn't share stuff with me like she used to,I fear I'm losing her because I can't walk anymore?", Martin said,"don't say that,I haven't gotten to know her that much but it's obvious that she loves you", mwinga said,he got a needle and pressed on Martin's legs,"let me know when you feel anything",he said,"do you feel that?",he asked and mwinga shook his head no...
AT A CLINIC
"well your HIV test came out negative",the doctor told Theresa and she sighed in relief,"and your pregnancy test was positive",the doctor said handing Theresa her test results,she felt torn apart,what if the child wasn't Martin's?,she always imagined how happy they would have been to hear this kind of news,they had been trying to have a child and now that she was pregnant she wasn't sure if it was his.
"Are you okay ma'am?",the doctor asked,"oh yes,thank you",she said and walked out.
"Well what did he say?", Patricia asked her immediately she walked out,"he just confirmed what the pregnancy test I took said,I'm pregnant Patricia,I'm pregnant and I don't know what I should do",she answered,"well you have to abort of course", Patricia said as the two got in the car, Theresa looked at friend in disbelief,"you want me to abort?,are you joking or what?",she asked,"it's for the best,that child will bring nothing but confusion", Patricia said,"I can't abort,Martin and I have been yearning for a child","but you're not even sure if it's his,I mean if it's not his it will be totally obvious especially if by any chance that child is Jerome's!",Patricia yelled,Theresa couldn't help but cry,she held her tummy,"think about it,you really don't want Martin to get hurt,that man loves you and if finds out about everything he might if kill himself", Patricia said but Theresa did nothing but cry, Patricia rolled her eyes and looked the other way,"I can't believe you could be this careless",she said.
AT MARTIN'S PLACE
Mwinga helped Martin get on the bed,"will I really ever walk?","of course you will,you just have to focus", mwinga said,"you say that everyday but I see no change",Martin said in frustration,"don't give up,do it for your wife","my wife",Martin scuffed,"I feel like am losing each passing day,I no longer feel like a man,I mean just her mere kiss or touch would turn me on,but now I feel uncomfortable mwinga,I don't feel like a man anymore,I can't even satisfy her needs", Martin cried,"I mean we've always wanted to have many children,but I can't even make her a mother now",Martin said between sobs, mwinga couldn't help but feel sorry for his friend,"there's still hope for you,I promise I'll do everything in my power to help you walk again",mwinga said.
Meanwhile Theresa was by the door listening to everything Martin said,she rushed to the guest room and cried her heart out,"am sorry Martin, I'm truly sorry,I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me someday",she said as she held her belly,"am sorry baby but I can't keep you", Theresa said,she had made up her mind,she couldn't keep a child that she had no idea who the father was.
FLASHBACK
Martin carried Theresa and they both fell in the bed laughing,"you know I can't wait to make you the mother of my children", Martin said with a huge smile on his face,"really and how many do you want?",she asked,"ten",and said and they both laughed,"you're crazy if you think I'll let you put ten kids in me",she said teasingly,"how about four?",he asked and Theresa shook her head no,"just two,and boy and a girl",she said,"whatever my queen says",he said and kissed her,"what do you say we start right now",Martin said and Theresa giggled and kissed him.
END OF FLASHBACK
Theresa got off the bed and wiped her tears,she opened the door and went to the main bedroom,"Theresa you're here"Martin said with a smile,"yes my love", Theresa said as she kissed Martin,"I'll leave you two alone", mwinga said,"thank you", Theresa said and mwinga walked out.
"Where have been?",Martin asked as Theresa took off her shoes and laid next to him,"I went to the clinic","what?are you sick?", Martin asked concerned,"no my love,I..I actually have good news",she said,"I'm pregnant",she said,"what?",Martin asked in shock....

TITAMENJI....insert nine.....
Why are you having doubts about doing this? Agness was talking to her husband John while he was driving them home.
Do you think it's easy huh!? Yelled John . I need to carefully think about it .
There is no thinking about it John ,the master wants what he wants and you have no option than to just do it said Agness .
Agness please the master gave me two weeks to do this and it's only four days that has gone by ,I still have time to do this said John .
The earlier the better John said Agness ...John then pulled over by the road side, took a deep breath and faced his wife , held her hands and said.... Babe don't you think this is not leading us anywhere ? Iam getting tired of all this , why can't we just pull out of this and live free lives?

John looked at his wife with tears almost falling from his eyes .He couldn't believe how cold hearted his wife had become . At this point there was nothing he could do to convince his wife about not killing his father and he imagined the consequences of not doing what was demanded of him by the cult . He turned away from his wife ,rubbed his eyes and continued driving his Range Rover.........
In less than an hour John and his wife were home , They entered the house after getting off from the car and found mwai sitted with Titamenji in the living room. Mwai was busy writing his homework while Titamenji was enjoying watching a Zambian movie on Zambezi magic . Mwai greeted his brother and his sister in-law when he saw them enter . Titamenji stood up and greeted them too.
Akalongosi na mulamu mulityani ( Brother and sister in-law how are you? ) Titamenji greeted them while bending alittle to show respect according to Zambian culture . John's wife looked at Titamenji with disguss and waved a hand at her . Her brother John didn't even respond to her greeting but instead asked what she was doing in his house. Before Titamenji could say anything ,mwai started explaining how he found her in town and what happened to her the first time she arrived in Lusaka . After hearing what mwai said , John looked at Titamenji and headed to his bedroom , he had enough to deal with and Titamenji wasn't going to add up ....he needed to be alone and think.................

Episode four
"What do you mean he can't walk", Patricia asked,"you don't have to worry the it's not permanent,with time he'll walk,it's nothing a little exercise can't fix",the doctor said,the two friends looked at each other,"won't that cost more money?", Theresa asked,"it will but you can also do some simple exercises with him at home",the doctor said and after a few more talks with him the two left his office.
THREE DAYS LATER
Theresa visited Martin in the hospital everyday,she missed being in his arms,she missed his beautiful smile,he was always happy even in his darkest times,she watched him as he ate his food and tears flowed down in her cheeks, Martin watched her cry,she was so absent minded the past three days,he couldn't help but blame himself.
"Why are you crying Theresa, it's not like am dead you know", Martin joked, Theresa shook her head,"why are you like this?,you were in an accident that almost killed you and now you can't walk yet you are here making silly jokes,I almost lost you?", Theresa said while trying to wipe her tears, Martin put the food on the table beside his bed,"I'm sorry,I just don't like seeing you cry", Martin said,"I hate it when you get like this,come here", Martin said as he held her hand,she got on the bed and lay next to him,she sighed in relief, at least she had her husband back and she thanked God for that.
Meanwhile Patricia watched them from a small window on the door,she felt a hand grab her and she almost screamed in fear,"oh my God,you scared me", Patricia said in annoyance,"what are you doing here how did you know we were here?",she asked,"you ask too many questions, how is Theresa I need to talk to her", Jerome said,"are you crazy?,are you trying to ruine her marriage or something?,look stay away from her, don't come here again", Patricia said,"that's not for you to decide,I'll talk to her no matter what",he said and left.
"And I'll make sure you don't", Patricia said,"I won't let you slip away Jerome, you're too great a price"..
AT THE SIAME ESTATE
"Ma'am there's someone here to see you",a maid said,"who is it?","I don't know",the maid said, Martin's mother sighed,"ok let them in",she said.
"Onisha how are you my dear?",she said as a young lady walked in,the two hugged each other,"Mrs Siame how have you been?", onisha asked,"terrible my dear,I really miss my son","oh that's right,I heard the news, I'm sorry about that,I hope he's ok now",onisha said,"what do you mean you hope he's ok", Martin's mother asked,"wasn't your son in an accident?",onisha asked confused,"accident?,I wasn't told about any accident","Martha you have to be serious,he's your son and you didn't know about this, talk about bad parents", onisha said, Martha was too shocked to reply to her,she rushed out of the house.
AT PATRICIA'S PLACE
Patricia,Theresa and Martin arrived back at the hospital after being discharged,the two helped him get on the bed,"I'll leave you two alone", Patricia said and walked out of the house.
Theresa helped Martin drink his medicine and covered him with a warm blanket, Martin watched her every action,"I'll go take a bath now", Theresa said and Martin held her hand,"am sorry,I'm sorry that am such a burden",Martin said,"don't say that,you're are not a burden, you're my husband it's my duty to take care of you", Theresa said and kissed his forehead,"and about the money for my surgery',Martin tried to say something but Theresa cut him short,"you should rest now instead of worrying about that",she said,"I just wanted to know where you got such an amount of money so soon", Martin said, Theresa panicked she never thought of this,"I went to one of my dad's friends,he lended me the money",she answered,"I'm sorry I brought this problem upon us", Martin said,"no Martin, you had done a lot for me and my family,it's nothing compared to what you did,besides I just couldn't lose you",she said and kissed him, Martin pulled away from the kiss and his facial expression changed,"what's wrong my love", Theresa asked,"nothing,it's nothing", Martin said,she looked at him in confusion,a loud knock was suddenly heard,"who could that be?", Theresa asked and went to open the door.
"My son", Martha rushed to Martin in tears,"am so sorry,am sorry I didn't come to see you,I didn't know, please forgive me, forgive me for everything", Martha begged,"mother calm down",he said,"am sorry my son please find it in your heart to forgive me,all this wouldn't have happened if I just let you marry her, maybe you would be fine if I had not disowned you", Martha cried helplessly,"it's not your fault mother and I hold no grudge against you, you're my mother",he said as he wiped her tears,"please get up mother, don't embarrass me like this",he said,"Theresa can you find it in your heart to forgive me for how I treated you and your father?", Martha asked,"it's okay ma'am all is forgiven",she replied.
Martha hugged the both of them,she was so hurt seeing her soon not able to walk, Martin was her only son and now he was crippled,"the doctor said he'll be fine, he'll be able to walk again with some daily exercises", Theresa said,"but he can't recover in this kind of environment,I want you two to return to your old house", Martha said,"mother..","don't argue now,the house is rightfully yours,I bought it for you, I'm also offering Theresa a job at our family company,it's the least I can do cause I caused all this suffering, please accept this so that I can be at peace my son",she said, Martin looked at Theresa and she shook her head yes,"okay mother we agree", Martin said and Martha jumped for joy,"thank you so much","no thank you mother", Theresa said and hugged Martha.
