MID-WEEK SERVICE

‎SPEAKER: Senior Deaconess Chibuye
‎TITLE: Strategic Plan of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAOG)

‎What is a strategic plan?
‎A document which an organization lays out to plan where they want to be in the next 2-5 years and how they intend to get there.

‎VISION OF PAOG: A spirit empowered missional church, equipped and established, bearing transformational witness to the nations.

‎MISSION: To bear spirit-empowered, Christ-centered transformational witness that impacts every sphere of society.

‎GOAL: Getting PAOG to the grassroots, to attain spirit empowered transformation
‎ •Luke 4:18-19, Malachi 2:5
‎ •As a transformed being, we should be able to impact the community and bring about change (make a difference).

‎7 Key Areas to Achieve our Goal:

‎1. Growth strategy - the growth is up to us, reach out to people and make an impact. Growth cannot come on its own, we need to have things set in place. Map out available members so that we can meet ourselves locally before we can go out (old/new members, profession, place of residence etc).

‎Invitation targets for 2026:
‎ •4 per week
‎ •16 per month
‎ •200 per year

‎2. Leadership Development - identify and train people in leadership roles. Monitor and evaluate data for the various church departments.

‎3. Community Pathways - a platform for us to be heard and seen, we should be relevant/useful in the community.

‎4. Climate Change - teaching people how to care for the environment e.g. recycling, tree planting etc.

‎5. Economic & Social Justice - identify and help those in need e.g. Through food drives and in turn you can draw more people into church.

‎6. Sustainability & common good - coming up with projects to raise funds so that we are self-sustaining and can use that to lend a hand to the needy.

‎7. Heritage - history of the church and practices of Pentecostals (water baptism, speaking in tongues, all night prayer...) should be passed on and taught to the next generation.

SUNDAY SERMON

‎SPEAKER: Rev Norah Mweemba
‎TITLE: The Lord Wants to Rekindle the Fire of the Holy Spirit in Our Lives (continuation)

‎Luke 5:37-38
‎The Lord is looking for a heart that is ready, clean, and open to pour in new wine (the Holy Spirit). It is because of His kindness that He wants us to be rekindled.

‎Matthew 24:12
‎We are living in a time where many Christians are lukewarm. Therefore, it is time to arise and be on fire for the Lord. Are you declaring and witnessing Christ out in the world?

‎2 Timothy 3:5, 1 Corinthians 15:58
‎We should not deny the power of God, it is real.

‎How to rekindle the fire:
‎1. Put wood on the altar daily (Leviticus 6:12, Jeremiah 23:29)
‎2. Sacrifice (Romans 12:1-2)
‎3. Stir up your God given giftings (1 Timothy 4:14)
‎4. Return to your first love (Revelation 2:4-5)

‎Acts 2:42-47
‎Ruth 2:20

MID-WEEK SERVICE

‎SPEAKER: Elder Munkombwe
‎TITLE: The God of the Less Privileged

‎Jesus associated with all sorts of people including those who were labelled and stigmatized by society. In John 8 they bring a woman to Jesus who committed an offense they believed was worth her being put to death by stoning. What they didn't realize is the heart he had for sinners.

‎John 8:7- Jesus writes something on the ground that helps vindicate the woman. The people are stunned and end up not going ahead with their mission, since they did not get the approval they wanted.

‎John 10:10
‎Matthew 11:19
‎Jesus came for the sinners, so He was found in questionable areas on severe occasions. Yet, he was simply following His assignment which had everything to do with sinners.

‎Jesus as a friend of the ignored/less privileged:

‎1. Ruth 1:22
‎The Moabites were born out of in**st from the lineage of Lot. Ruth came from this very generation that is labelled as an abomination before the Lord.

‎Ruth 4:13
‎It is out of this lineage of abomination that Jesus came from, that's why He is a friend to the sinner.

‎2. Genesis 29:31-32
‎Leah is a woman of affliction & misery, one of a troubled heart. When the Lord saw that Leah wasn't loved, He came through for her.
‎The grace of the Lord is the favour that one is given because He is a good God.

‎3. Exodus 3
‎The Lord saw the afflictions of His children and heard their cry. Jesus has ears, He hears and sees us.

‎4. John 5:1
‎For the case of the man at the pool. There were rules to be followed for one to be healed there:
‎ •No healing was to take place on the Sabbath
‎ •Healing had to be one at a time & once in a year (1 person per year)
‎ •The first to jump in is the one who gets healed
‎ •You don't just jump into the water, it has to be stirred by the angel

‎These sets of rules disadvantaged many e.g the blind, deaf etc. One man in particular was paralyzed and solely depending on well wishers. Jesus comes to the aid of this man and heals Him (John 5:8).

‎The Lord is close to the broken hearted, the afflicted, the forgotten, downtrodden. The one who died on the cross of Calvary, EVEN NOW, He still sticks close like a friend. He is a friend of those with no helpers.
‎Psalm 34:17-19

SUNDAY SERMON

‎SPEAKER: Rev Norah Mweemba
‎TITLE: The Lord Wants to Rekindle the Fire of the Holy Spirit in our Lives

‎Luke 5:36-39
‎The old skin represents our old life and the new, our new lives as born again believers. God is looking for new vessels to put new wine in (the Holy Spirit). The old wine skin is not suitable for a believer. For you to be on fire for God, do great things, and also function in general, you need the power of the Holy Spirit.

‎Matthew 24:10-13
‎2 Timothy 3:1-5
‎Turn away from things that distract you and cause you not to be faithful in the things of God. Be strong in the Lord and endeavor to do that which is right. There is a call to us all to be committed to the things of God.

‎We are in the last days and priorities for people have changed, but remember to "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God..."

‎What is your priority?
‎Desire to know Him more and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. When you are filled, it is hard to stay idle.

‎It is in these last days that people have become relaxed towards the things of God. We have a mandate to preach the gospel, we should not grow cold in the things of God. How does one grow if they don't interact with others and the things of God?

‎We need revival!
‎Despite all that is happening around us, we still need to push till the end, until we are on fire for the Lord and see His glory.

‎Be rooted in God and the fire of the Holy Spirit will be ablaze in you. In your busyness, remember God and avail yourself, show up.

‎1 Corinthians 10:31
‎"Whatever you do, do it to the glory of God."

‎For us to rekindle the fire in our lives:

‎1. Put wood on the alter daily
‎WOOD- the Word of God
‎ALTAR- a place of prayer

‎Leviticus 6:12-13
‎In the old testament priests would put wood on behalf of the people, but due to what Christ did on the cross, we are all priests and have the ability to do this for ourselves. Through this act, the Lord will reveal Himself and speak daily. Have an altar in your home, there is restoration in the presence of God. If you stay away, you risk turning wax cold.

‎2. Sacrifice- put in the work and time for the things of God, the same way you make time for other things in your life.
‎Romans 12:1-2
‎Genesis 22:13

‎3. Stir up the gifts God has given you
‎2 Timothy 1:6-7
‎The more you use your gifts, the more you are stirred.

‎4. Return to your first love- go back to a place where you look forward to the things of God and had no excuses for missing out.

‎Acts 4:31-37
‎The church of Christ prayed and the spirit of the Lord fell upon them. We as well can do the same.
