A TRIBUTE TO BROTHER PHIL STEPHENS
It is with both sorrow and joy that we share the news of the passing of our dear brother in Christ, Phil Stephens, who has gone home to be with the Lord he loved and served so faithfully.
Pastor Justin Warner shared these heartfelt words about Brother Phil:
“I rejoice because he is with the Lord, Whom he loved with all his heart — but I will miss him.
Phil and his wife, Melody, came to Zambia around the same time as Preetika and I in 2006. Though we may have been opposites in many ways, we worked together so well — I was a good listener, and he was a good talker.
He taught me, by example, the character traits of boldness, compassion, and fearlessness.
We spent long hours riding on bush roads to share the Gospel with Zambian villages. Phil was a master storyteller — full of exuberance one moment and shedding tears over someone’s struggles the next.
He loved studying God’s Word and had a deep compassion for souls. He was a friend, a brother, and a mentor. I truly thank God for Phil’s impact in this world for the cause of Christ.”
We at Fallsview Bible Baptist Church join Pastor Justin and his family — Preetika and Elijah — in extending our deepest condolences to Sister Melody Stephens, their daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Brother Phil’s life and ministry left an indelible mark on Zambia and beyond. We celebrate his homegoing and thank God for a life well lived for Christ.
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” — Psalm 116:15
Until we meet again, Brother Phil — thank you for your faithful service and love for souls. 💛
