Toka-leya Bible Translation launched in Livingstone

Livingstone Acting District Commissioner Harriet Kawina, has launched the Toka-leya Bible Translation in Livingstone.

Speaking during the launch at the weekend in a speech read on her behalf by District Administration Officer, Helen Mwanza, Ms kawina says the launch is gratifying not only to provide the Toka- leya people with an indigenous Bible but also an indication of the need to continue keeping Zambia a Christian Nation.

Ms Kawina has hailed the Toka-leya Bible Translation Association for being at the helm of spearheading the awareness, adding that the cause should supported by well-meaning toka and leya people to some extent by all Zambians because it is a rare privilege.

And chairperson of the Toka-leya Bible Translation Association Dr William Dennis McDonald, says his Association wishes to spearhead the putting into availability of Toka-leya literacy materials.

Dr. William says once the activity is done, the Bible will be put at a fee reasonable accessible to all its users but challenges that for this effect to be met, the Association is in need of financial or good will support.
