VERSE
Philippians 1:27-28 (KJV) Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

INSPIRATION
Just because we have been justified beyond our works, it does not mean that we have a right to live our lives carelessly. No. In this verse, we are urged to live our lives in a manner that is worth of the gospel of Christ. Our actions should be in response to the righteous nature we have adopted, as children of God. We need to make sure the things we do and the words we speak are a correct representation of who God is.

PRAYER
Dear God, I pray that in everything I do, may my life be lived in a way that is pleasing before your eyes. May I stay away from all activities that do not glorify your name, Lord. I pray that I follow your guidance and apply your wisdom, so that the righteousness that is within me, will shine through. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

James 4:7-8 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

INSPIRATION
Submit to God but resist the Devil. That is the twofold action we must take in our spiritual warfare. On the one hand there is utter surrender; on the other hand there is stern unyielding resistance. In any army, and so also in God's army, a good soldier must submit to his commander but fight tenaciously against the enemy.

PRAYER
O Captain of our salvation, O Commander of the army of the LORD, give us the strength to resist the temptations and attacks of Satan. Give us also the humility, love, and wisdom it takes to make an unconditional surrender to you each and every day. Amen

Titus 2:11-12 (KJV) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

INSPIRATION

The instructions are simple, but to follow them is not easy. The present world is filled with temptations and sin. Luckily we are all given a CHOICE, how to live, given to us only through the salvation through the grace of God. Realize and refuse these temptations and we can appreciate the sacrifice made to save mankind.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, what you ask of us is simple yet easy to forget. Help lead us away from the sin and evils of this world. Lead us towards a life of righteousness and faith. A life worth living is one that follows Your word. It is the only way, the truth and the light. Pray all of this in Your holy name. Amen.

INSPIRATION
A question known to all Christians is: “what would Jesus do?” The glorious truth of the matter is that we already have plenty of examples within the Bible from which to extrapolate and help guide us. The short answer is to live in love and harmony with ones fellow man, to the extent that hurting any would be an anathema. Christ, though the Son of God, humbled himself washing the feet of those society deemed unworthy. Could you, yourself, love other so?

PRAYER
Lord, in the name you Son I pray, and thank him for showing us the way into eternal Paradise. In your infinite mercy and love for me Lord God, grant me the ability to reciprocate; not only to you, but all my brothers and sisters. For in the image of your only begotten Son, I see ideal and perfection I will strive to become. Amen.

(((A BROKEN HEART, THE FLAME OF LOVE)))

((GOD HAS NEVER PROMISED ANYONE THAT THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO SACRIFICE OR SUFFER))

(VERSE)
Psalms 34:18-19 (KJV) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

(INSPIRATION)
God has never promised anyone that they wouldn’t have to sacrifice or suffer. It is the human condition. Even if we go back to the story of Adam and Eve, they couldn’t have everything, they had to avoid the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden or they would suffer the consequences. But it looked so good, why was God making them suffer? Well, we know the rest of the story! There will always be something we can’t have, or can’t do. There will always be times when we will suffer for our beliefs. We may do everything right, and still get sick, break an arm or a leg, lose a job, a home, a loved one. Is God punishing us? Of course not! No one escapes. We might look at those who are not righteous, and think that they seem to have it all. We might see wealth or power or fame, but do we really see it all? We don’t see that they, too, get sick, lose people they love, etc. What God promises us is that he will be with us through the sufferings that we endure. Haven’t you sometimes thought, or even said, “I don’t know how people who don’t have faith get through this!” I know I have. Whether it is the loss of a child or a spouse, or losing everything in a fire or a flood, or other type of disaster, I don’t know how they do it. I try to be the best I can be because I am so grateful for the presence of God in my life. What about you?

Loving God, you don't promise us a life without pain here on earth, but you do promise that you will walk with us through the afflictions that this life brings. Thank you. Amen

1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

(INSPIRATION)
Sin is dirty and foul – it is the opposite of all things holy. We cannot be joined with Christ when we are covered in the stench of unrighteousness. Without a savior, we would always be covered in our sins. However, the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins if we confess and seek forgiveness. This holy cleansing only comes from His mercy – it cannot come from anything we do. No matter how good we try to be, we receive this gift of cleansing simply because he is faithful and just to forgive us when we confess our sins.

(PRAYER)
Dear God, you have welcomed sinners to your table and given us a place beside you only through your mercy and grace. You forgive us when we cannot forgive ourselves. We know it is only through the sacrifice your Son made that we are made clean of all our unrighteousness. Thank you for your faithfulness and love. Give us opportunities to share the truth of your faithfulness and forgiveness with those who need to hear it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Proverbs 18:24 (KJV) A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

(INSPIRATION)
Friendships are important, but it does not matter how many friends you have. It matters more what type of friends you have. Some people seem to stockpile friends, but if they do not have any friends who are loyal or dependable, then what good are they? Instead, you should try to develop friendships of the heart like David and Jonathan. These men cared deeply for one another and offered protection and love. They did stick closer than a brother. Fortunately, as Christians, we have our Savior as our closest friend.

(PRAYER)
Dear God, help me to develop relationships that matter. Give me discernment to choose friends that are loyal and draw me closer to you. Remind me that popularity fades, but true friendships last. When I feel alone, remind me that you are always near and always faithful. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and laying your life down for me. Draw me closer to you, O Lord. May I honor my relationship with you by serving you with all my heart, soul, and mind. In Jesus’ name, amen.

(INSPIRATION)
Moses reminds the nation Israel here in Deuteronomy, just before they entered the promised land, of the 10 Commandments they received from God when they stood before Mount Sinai. The first of those commandments was that He, the only true God and the God who saved them out of slavery in Egypt, must be the only God they worship.

(PRAYER)
You, Lord, are our God and our Savior. You brought us up out of slavery to sin in the world. You alone must be first in our hearts. We cannot serve you and money. We cannot serve you and worldly pleasures. We cannot make another god stand beside you and be true worshippers of you. Help us to dedicate ourselves fully to you, Lord, that we be not double-minded or double-hearted.
