THE DOCTRINE OF DISPENSATIONS

Lesson 0: What Is a Dispensation?

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God..." — 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

Today, we begin a new Bible study series on The Doctrine of Dispensations.

A dispensation (Greek: oikonomia) means stewardship or administration. It is a distinct period in which God entrusts humanity with a specific responsibility, tests obedience, judges disobedience, and progressively reveals His redemptive plan (Ephesians 1:10; 3:2).

Every dispensation includes:

• God's revelation or responsibility. • Humanity's test. • Humanity's failure. • God's judgment. • God's grace and the beginning of a new phase in His plan.

Key Truths

God never changes, but His dealings with humanity unfold progressively.

Humanity cannot save itself apart from God's grace.

Jesus Christ is the central figure of every dispensation.

Join me tomorrow as we begin Lesson 1: The Dispensation of Innocence (Genesis 2–3).

May the Lord give us understanding as we study His Word together.
