Life after retirement:
Many of our parents died prematurely after retirement simply because they did not prepare for life after retirement.Few reached the age sixty five.
They enjoyed life,ZCCM provided almost every thing they wanted.
Many of them while working did not build houses to live in they believed they were going to get enough money as benefits.
Many of our parents began building houses in villages and compounds and some did not manage to build houses to live in.
Those who managed to build did not have money left to support their new life.Since money was just going out without any form of income , within a short time they had no money left to spend.Depression and stress took our parents to the grave very early.
Lessons:
1.Let’s be wise how we spend the money.
2.Let’s live within our means.
3.Avoid spending on wasting assets that are not bringing in money.
4.Buy land and start building while you have steady income.
5.Save no matter the small income you have.
6.Invest and you will not go wrong investing in real estate because land usually appreciates in value.
7.When you have built or bought one house continue on acquiring more because there is life after retirement.
8.Don’t wait until you have enough money start with the little you have one step at a time.
9.Children are a blessing but don’t depend on them completely in as much as children will be blessed by God when they take good care of their parents.
10. The principle of Saving one Fith of the harvest to take care of the days of famine.

My advise to my fellow clergy:
1.let’s learn from the wisdom of Solomon, he built Gods temple first then he built his house.
2.Establishment dosent come by accident you need to plan and work at it.proverbs 16 v 3,
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans”
3.It is now that some denomination and churches have put in housing policies. How ever you must be pro active knowing that the church is only helping you it cannot do every thing for you.
If you think the church will think for you that rarely happens.
4.If you are married empower your wife to do something. Let her oversee your bussines projects.
5.Do not give in to the notion that clergy must be poor their reward is in heaven,that is not sound doctrine.
6.Let there be a clear separation between what belongs to the church and what belongs to the family.There is always a confusion that arises when a pastor is moving going to another place or when he dies.
When people are building they must know in whose name the title is. It is not right people contributing thinking it is a church property when it is your private property.
Be transparent.I know some one when things got tough closed the church and sold the building and relocated and people scattered.
7.As the church, ministry grows your family must be getting established as well.
8.As you sacrifice to establish the church sacrifice to establish your family as well.
9.please don’t forget to spend time with your children so that they don’t enter into temptation of resenting the church.
10.Let’s not forget our priorities
God first, family second ,ministry third.
How can it profit us to win the world and lose our family.
Be wise I have seen what happens when pastors die how churches give the widow and children three months to stay in the church house.
11. Writing a will pastor does not mean you will die tomorrow or you will die first it is just wisdom.
12. Don’t force your wife to be a pastor just because she is married to you. Let her flow in her gifting may be her calling is to make money and support her family and the kingdom of God.
