DO NOT LET YOUR BROTHER WALK ALONE

Beautiful Tuesday my dear friends. I’d love to share with you today a thought deeply seated in the bedrock of ancient Psalms, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).

This particular Scripture brings to life some very important tenets of life and living. Christian brotherhood is more than calling each other “brother” at church. It is noticing when someone has been absent, listening when he is troubled, and standing beside him when life becomes heavy. A phone call, a visit or a quiet prayer together can remind a person that he has not been forgotten.

We will sometimes disappoint one another. Brotherhood does not mean we always agree; it means we choose to speak honestly with kindness, forgive where we can, and keep making room for one another. Jesus told His disciples that people would recognise them by their love for one another (John 13:35).

Ellen G. White wrote, “Christians are all members of one family, all children of the same heavenly Father” (The Acts of the Apostles, chapter 54). (text.egwwritings.org) Let us live like a family today. Reach out to a brother. Share his burden. Celebrate his progress. If he stumbles, help him rise.

THE POWER OF A CHANGED LIFE

Blessed Monday to you dear friends. I hope you had a great weekend and that you’re ready for a fruitful week ahead. I want to bring to your attention the beautiful words from one of my favorite authors of all time, Ellen White in her insightful book titled The Ministry of Healing, p. 470, “The strongest argument in favor of the gospel is a loving and lovable Christian.”

Life for what it is, people may forget much of what we say, but they remember how we treat them. A family notices when someone who once spoke harshly begins to listen. A colleague notices when a person who used to blame others learns to take responsibility. A neighbour notices when someone chooses to help without expecting anything in return.

That is the power of a changed life. It gives people hope that their own story can change too. Scripture says, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Christ’s work in us becomes visible through ordinary choices made day after day.

Perhaps you still have habits to overcome. Do not let that discourage you. Bring them to Jesus, and take the next faithful step. Apologise where you need to. Speak more gently. Keep a promise. Each choice gives His grace room to work in your life.

Today, may someone see in us a reason to believe that God can make all things new.

A NEW WEEK IN GOD’S CARE

As a new week begins, may peace that surpasses human understanding stay with you. May God give you strength for your responsibilities, wisdom for your decisions, and a kind heart toward everyone you meet.

Whatever this week brings, remember that you do not walk alone. May your faith remain steady, your home be filled with love, and your life be a blessing to others as we look forward to Christ’s return.

Happy new week. May the Lord keep you in His care. Amen.

A KIND WORD, A HELPING HAND

The great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve.”

You see brethren, the kind of great service people celebrate often begins with something small. It may be the way we speak to a tired colleague, listen to a worried friend, or notice a neighbour who could use help. We do not always know what someone is carrying. A gentle word can give them courage, and a practical act of kindness can make their burden lighter.

The Bible calls us to “be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted” (Ephesians 4:32) and to “bear ye one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). Ellen G. White also reminds us that love and gentleness are fruits of the Spirit in a Christian’s life (Sons and Daughters of God, p. 32).

Today, let us look for one person to encourage and one way to help. We may think our effort is small, but to the person who needs it, it could mean a great deal.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU A LEMON

If you taste a lemon by itself and you may wince. But when you squeeze it into a cup of tea or pray it’s juice in a meal it can bring out the flavour. How you use it is what makes the difference. The lemon does not change, its good flavor thrives best when put to good use.

You see brethren, in life some days bring their own sour moments such as a delayed plan, an unkind remark, a problem waiting for us at home. We do not have to pretend those things are pleasant. But we can ask God to help us decide what comes out of us when life presses us. Will it be a sharp reply, or a gentle one? Will we pass our frustration to someone else, or offer them kindness?

The Bible says, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness…” (Galatians 5:22). Ellen G. White describes the fruit of Christian life as Christ’s character growing in the believer (Lift Him Up, p. 274).

Today, when a difficult moment comes, pause and pray before you respond. A calm word, a patient ear or a small act of help may be exactly what someone needs. By God’s grace, even a sour moment can leave a good taste behind.
