_Key Points from the Message_

Last time, believers were encouraged about truly loving GOD.

Many people are good at setting up idols in their lives in different ways.

In the Old Testament, people created physical idols such as golden objects and images.

In Ezekiel, the elders had also set up idols in their hearts.

Anything that takes the place of GOD becomes an idol:

1. Money
2. Sports (e.g. football)
3. Work
4. Relationships
5. Fame
6. Possessions

We can idolize many things in our lives and families without realizing it.

A question to ask ourselves:

> “What would you choose — GOD’S ’s
program or overtime at work?”

The world teaches that “money answers everything,” but GOD must remain number one in our lives. GOD desires first place in everything. We must examine our hearts and remove every idol. GOD is one, and nothing should ever replace

THEME: Treasure in Jars of Clay

TEXTS: 2 Corinthians 4:7; Psalms 24:7

INTRODUCTION

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:7 that “we have this treasure in jars of clay…”
This means:
We are the clay (our bodies)
The treasure is what God has placed inside us

God intentionally chose ordinary vessels to carry extraordinary value, so that all glory goes back to Him—not us.

1. WHAT IS THE TREASURE?
The treasure represents:
The presence of God
The grace and power of God
The gifts, calling, and potential inside you
The ministry God has placed in your life

👉 There is so much value inside you
👉 There is untapped potential within you
Even you may not fully understand what God has deposited in you—but He knows.

2. WHY JARS OF CLAY?
Clay jars are:
Weak
Fragile
Ordinary
God uses clay jars so that:
No man takes the glory
The power is clearly from God

👉 Your weakness does not disqualify you
👉 Your brokenness does not cancel your purpose

Do not feel condemned — you carry something powerful.

3. THE REALITY OF SPIRITUAL GATES
From Psalms 24:7 – “Lift up your heads, O ye gates…”
This shows:
Gates are spiritual entry points

* Gates can influence your life, family, and ministry
Important truths:
The enemy knows your treasure
The enemy tries to block your potential

- There are gates in your life that must be addressed

👉 Ask yourself: Who is speaking at your gates?
Who is influencing decisions in your life?

ACTIVATING YOUR TREASURE

(i) Understand God’s Plan
God is your Manufacturer
He knows your design and purpose
👉 Stay connected to your Source (God)

(ii) Be Consistent
Character matters
Behaviour matters

👉 An encounter with God must be followed by consistency

(iii) Understand Your Function
Everyone has a role
If you don’t know your function, you will miss your assignment

👉 Discover it
👉 Apply it by faith

(iv) Understand Your Purpose
You are not here by accident
Like Paul and Peter, you must know your assignment.

⛪ SERMON TITLE: IDOLS IN THE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH

📖 ANCHOR TEXTS

Book of Exodus 20:1–4

Book of Ezekiel 14:1–4

🔰 INTRODUCTION

God commanded in Exodus that we should have no other gods before Him.
But in Ezekiel, God reveals that idolatry is not just physical—it is a matter of the heart.

God spoke to Ezekiel concerning the elders, showing that even people in leadership can carry hidden idols.

🔑 MAIN MESSAGE

1. Idols Are Not Physical—They Are in the Heart

“They have set up idols in their hearts”

Idolatry today is internal, not just statues

👉 You can be in church but still have idols within.

2. Anything That Takes the Place of God Is an Idol

God must always be first

👉 Correct order:

1. GOD

2. FAMILY

3. CHURCH

👉 GOD is number one no matter the situation.

3. God Does Not Share His Glory

“You shall have no other gods before Me”

👉 God must be first, not one of many

4. Idols Cause Repeated Sin and Distance from God
Idols become a stumbling block

👉 They keep you falling into the same sin and moving away from God.

5. Idols Block Clear Communication with God
God answered them according to their idols

👉 You cannot expect clear answers from GOD while holding onto idols.

6. Idols Reduce Spiritual Sensitivity
You stop hearing God clearly

Your discernment becomes weak
👉 When idols are present, your spiritual sensitivity decreases.

7. Self-Idolatry Is Dangerous
Loving self above God
Pride and self-exaltation

👉 Idolizing oneself can hinder prayers to GOD.

🔥 CONCLUSION
Idolatry is a heart problem
God is calling for total surrender
Remove everything that competes with Him

“Lord, remove every hidden idol in my heart. Take first place in my life. You alone are God.”
