DOES JESUS CARE?
Genesis 37; Exodus 3:7–10
Sometimes God’s care is difficult to recognise because His presence does not always come with immediate answers. Joseph was loved by his father, yet hated by his brothers, thrown into a pit and sold into slavery.
From Joseph’s perspective, it may have seemed as though God was silent. But God had not abandoned him. His painful present was not the end of his story.
In the same way, when the Israelites cried under the burden of slavery, God said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people… and have heard their cry.” (Exodus 3:7, KJV). Their suffering had not gone unnoticed.
God cares about our destination, not merely our present situation. Joseph saw a pit; God saw a palace.
Joseph experienced betrayal; God was preparing him for a purpose. Israel experienced slavery; God was preparing to lead them toward the Promised Land.
What looks like a delay, a setback, or even silence may still be part of a greater journey that God is directing.
Therefore, remain faithful. Do not allow difficult circumstances to make you abandon God.
Joseph remained faithful even when his circumstances changed from bad to worse. God's promises do not die simply because our circumstances become difficult. What He has spoken remains true.
“For I am with thee” (Exodus 3:12, KJV). When Jesus seems silent, remember that silence is not absence. He sees, He hears, He cares, and He is still working.
Does Jesus care? Yes—His care may be hidden from our eyes, but His purposes are never forgotten.
