John 16:7-15

7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Jesus was very clear about the personality and ministry of who He would send. If only we can understand, believe and let Him (Holy Spirit) lead, what a life each one of us would lead?

We worshipped God together, and were reminded not to fear because God will be with us. Isaiah 41:10

God, Our Father.

Romans 8:14 - 17
"14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory."

Each time a child offends the father, fear and worry grips them. The Father is also grieved that the child is living in disobedience.
Disobedience does not only displease the father but also exposes a child to danger. And this a child intrinsically knows.

Similarly, we are gripped with fear when we don't know God is our father, and when we know we are living in rebellion against God.

My prayer is that we'll all desire and pursue a life that pleases God. May we be led by His Spirit. May our prayer be "Father, may your Spirit lead me always."

Old or young, there’s a relationship we all remember. We remember it for the good experiences or bad experiences of it. We think of it even for not having it at all.

Some wish they had it. Others wish they never had it at all. Some think it should have been short. Others wish it never was ‘cut short’. It bothers us if we didn’t experience it. It hurts us if we had it but wasn’t good enough or was good but now it is no more. This is a relationship of a father and child.

What was your ‘Father-child relationship’?

This Sunday, we will look at God our Father, and how as a Father, He is different and infinitely bigger and better than all our fathers. He loves us enormously. He draws us to Himself. He ‘spoils’ us. He is faithful.

Come let’s share our experience with Him.
