A Prophetic Letter to Every Leader Seeking Office in Zambia’s 2026 Elections
From Councilors to MPs to Mayors to Presidents
From a Servant of God Who Weeps for This Nation
To you who want to lead — at any level,
I write with ashes in my mouth and fire in my bones. Because “the Lord has a controversy with the leaders of His people.” Micah 6:2. And in 2026, Zambia will choose again who will carry her pain.
To the COUNCILOR seeking a ward:
Your office is small, but your God is not. The drainage you refuse to unblock will drown a child in January. The market levy you inflate will send a mother home with no relish. “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” Luke 16:10. If you steal K500 now, you will steal millions later. The Lord saw you when you took that brown envelope. He is writing your name in His book. Will it be under “faithful” or “thief”?
To the MAYOR dreaming of the chain:
A city is a mother. Will you be a father to her, or a stranger who sells her? When the streets flood and children miss school, God does not ask the President — He asks you. When the dump burns and the poor breathe poison, He holds you accountable. Nehemiah was a governor who did not eat the food allotted to him, “because the demands were heavy on these people.” Nehemiah 5:18. Mayor, can you say the same?
To the MP fighting for Parliament:
You want to be called “Honourable”. But honor is not voted in — it is lived out. If you have never slept in a village without a convoy, don’t speak for the people. If you don’t know the price of a 10kg bag of mealie meal this morning, don’t make laws about hunger. “Woe to those who enact evil statutes and to those who constantly record unjust decisions.” Isaiah 10:1. Every time you miss a sitting but claim an allowance, God records it. Every CDF project you inflate, a child in a rural school will sit on the floor. You are not going to Parliament to debate. You are going to answer to God for 150,000 souls.
To the PRESIDENT — sitting or seeking:
Mr. President, the whole nation is your parish. When a nurse in Mongu uses a phone torch to deliver a baby, that is your shame. When a farmer in Lundazi watches his maize rot because there’s no road, that is your failure. You are not “His Excellency” first. You are His Servant first. David said, “I will not give sleep to my eyes... until I find a place for the Lord.” Psalm 132:4-5. Mr. President, what keeps you awake? Your re-election, or Zambia’s resurrection?
To ALL of you, from ward councilor to State House:
Listen to the cry I hear in the Spirit:
“In Katete Soweto, a child told me, ‘Ba pastor, I want to be a thief when I grow up. That’s the only job that pays.’”
“In rural Katete, an old woman said, ‘We only see leaders when they want votes. After that, we are orphans.’”
“In Parliament, I saw men laugh while debating poverty. In council chambers, I saw women clap for budgets they cannot explain.”
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6. And you — leaders — are the ones who withheld it.
So here is the word of the Lord for 2026:
1. If you are running to escape your own poverty — step down. “Better the poor whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse.” Proverbs 19:1
2. If you are running to protect your tribe — step down. “There is neither Jew nor Gentile... for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28. Zambia is one.
3. If you are running because you love microphones — step down. “Not many of you should become teachers... because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” James 3:1
4. But if God has broken you — if you have wept for Katete, if you have fasted for the compounds, if you are ready to be hated for doing right — then come. Come with ashes. Come with a towel. Come ready to die.
Because leadership is dying. “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” John 12:24. Zambia will not rise until leaders die to self.
So Councilor, will you sweep the street yourself?
Mayor, will you refuse the brown envelope?
MP, will you return the extra allowance?
President, will you jail your friend if he steals?
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2
Zambia has mourned since 1964. Let 2026 be different.
I am on my knees. The intercessors are on the wall. Heaven is watching. And the children of Katete and Katete Soweto are waiting to see if you are a Moses, or another Pharaoh.
Choose.
“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19
For the sake of the cross,
For the sake of Zambia,
A Servant of God
From the dust of Katete Soweto, to the fields of Katete, to the dome of Parliament to the gates of State House — The Lord weighs the hearts of leaders.
