A HEART OF GRATITUDE
‘’ In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’’ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)
Gratitude is more than just a feeling; it's a choice that reflects our trust in God's sovereignty and goodness. When we choose to thank God in all circumstances, we acknowledge that He is in control. In a world where challenges and troubles abound, it's easy to get caught up in grumbling and complaining. But as believers, we're called to cultivate a heart of gratitude. When we focus on the good things God has done for us, we open doors to His blessings and miracles. ‘’Then He ordered the crowds to recline on the grass; and He took the five loaves and the two fish, and, looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and blessed and broke the loaves and handed the pieces to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.’’ Matthew 14:19 (AMPC). Jesus multiplied the five loaves of bread and two fishes, showing the power of gratitude and faith. This can also mean gratitude can multiply every missing thing in your life. Although we know that we should cultivate an attitude of gratitude to God and man, the problem is that we are more inclined to grumble and complain while there may be ten things for which we can be grateful for we tend to focus on the one thing which isn't going the way we want or expect. Some doors will never open until you learn how to be grateful, O yes! Sincerely.
Remember Jesus gave thanks for the five loaves of Bread and two fishes this brought about the unusual multiplication (Matthew 14:12-21). No matter what you are going through be grateful to God for your life, because where there is life, there is hope. Instead of focusing on the troubles you are in at the moment why not look at areas God has showed you His mercy and favour and stand strong on it to thank Him then you will see His mighty hand work wonders again in your life. Remember Paul and Silas would not have seen the mighty move of the power of God in that prison if they had broken down weeping that night, instead they turned that prison to a place of praise. Praising their Lord in the beauty of his holiness, forgetting that a few minutes ago they were humiliated in the market place (Acts 16:22-26). Dangers of murmuring and complaining are shown in scripture,1 Corinthians 10:10 (NLT) says: ‘’ And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death’’. the Apostle Paul recounts the Israelites’ wilderness journey, highlighting that those who grumbled *“were destroyed by the destroyer.”* Scripture reveals how an entire generation of Israelites perished in the wilderness due to their murmuring against God. Complaining is not a minor offense; it is a spiritual breach that invites destruction, while a thankful heart fosters contentment and joy. It aligns us with God’s perspective, allowing us to see His hand at work even in challenging circumstances. Gratitude is a spiritual discipline that transforms our outlook and invites God’s presence into our lives
