CHRIST OUR SAVIOUR

"But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons."β€” Galatians 4:4-5 NKJV

To properly understand why and how there can even be an Antichrist we need to understand why there's Christ. This is not to mean why Jesus Christ exists but as in why and how he came to our earth. When it was time for the Messiah to be born, an angel was sent to announce to Joseph, "she (Mary) will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)

The son to come was to be called Jesus simply because his main mission was to save the world from sin. 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.' (John 3:16) How was Jesus going to do this? He was going to be born as a human being, live as a human being, and die in the stead of the sinful human being, resurrect and ascend to heaven to appropriate the gift of salvation to all who believe in him.

Let's pause here a bit βœ‹, Why do you think it was important for Jesus to come? Couldn't we save ourselves or maybe anyone from among us have be chosen to save us? As you go through these questions read through 1 Peter 1:18-19 and Hebrews 9:22.

CHRIST, THE GROWTH MODEL FOR THE YOUTH

"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man."β€” Luke 2:52 NIV

"Voices Amplified and Innovations Ignited," is the theme for this year's Youth Day celebrations. But what is a voice amplified if those voicing out are saying Jesus is a scam? More and more youths are claiming there's no God, many are getting convinced that Christianity and growth or prosperity don't go along. Many youths have left the church for search of 'greener pasture' in the world. Is it true that hardwork and Christianity don't go along? Is Christianity a scam brought to us by the western world as many claim?

While it can be true that wrong practices of religion can lead to poverty, Jesus himself is the model anyone who wants to make in life should follow. Ask any attentive student of scripture they will tell you that Jesus' name is a brand no business will match, his life is full of business, academic, economic, social and spiritual principles. These principles are principles to greatness.

Christ was not more advantaged than any of us. A carpenter's son, born in a manger yet but a brand 2000 years ago with over 2 billion people today (though people misuse it). Christ was a hard worker, from age 0 till age 30 (as a youth) he was in his father's workshop working with wood. Some people think πŸ’¬, Christ was some lazy fella, no brethren. 30 good years, he was scarcely known to the world. The only way to greatness is hardwork, no cutting corners. Hardwork is the only amplifier the youth should use to get their voices amplified.

After 30 years of service in his father's workshop, he now went into Judea, Samaria and now he's everywhere. Jesus didn't rush to make it, he waited and built himself for 30 years then went full scale with his mission to Earth, saving soul. The more time you spend in preparing the more powerful you will be. My fellow Youth rush in being famous, rushing into the world to make it so they can be seen, Christ says that's not the way. He spent much time in secret building himself, and only worked for 3 and half years but the results are eternal. My good Sir Mr Mike Ashley Phiri wrote on his wall:

"Cheers to you if you have been told you're too risky to bet on. You are best kept secret in the hidden voices, the one God trusts so much, the one God is jealous of and wants to keep you just a little bit longer before the world 🌎 discovers you and things get crazy. There is rhythm to this that is predictable. The people of God are chosen, and then they are hidden. They are then trained and developed in secret. Jesus was the best kept πŸ™Œ secret( Rom 16: 8). The longer you can stay hidden, the more explosive your message will be. You can not escape discovery . You will be the voice, the Oracle of God to the people πŸ™ πŸ™Œ"

You can't make it in bed πŸ›οΈ, is a principle Christ understood well. He was an early riser from the start, till even in his death he woke up earlier than those who were alive for when they went to the tomb they found that he was risen. "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Mark 1:35 NIV. Read biographies of all millionaires, none sleep the way you do, not even Jesus did!

The wise man had a question for the youth, "How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest β€” and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man." Proverbs 6:9-11 NIV. To my sisters, even you can't make it 'in bed' either ways. When Mary Magdalene realized that she could only make it through Jesus, she was ever at his feet. Your voices aren't amplified in bed but at Jesus' feet!

We are not the first ones to try and gamble, Judas Iscariot did and you know the story. Try to get rich quickly by trading Christ for some 30 pieces of silver will hung you in a tree of problems. You can't make it on betway, Christ is the only better Way! Only hardwork pays no ponzi schemes!

From as early as when he was 12 years of age, Christ could stand the PhD and Doctors of his time because he studied.(Luke 2:41-52) You can't always ChatGPT your way up, study and learn the skills of proper research. Paul advised the young man Timothy, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

Don't be an island 🏝️ fellow young man. Christ was a community asset, he was a friend to the republican and yet a master to the high ranking officials like Nechodimus. We cannot afford to be so disrespectful to people who will lift us up. Either ways, it's the people who will lift you up to achieve your mission, it's his people who lifted Christ to the cross. It's the people who provided for his grave. Those people you disrespect today are the ones who can stand for you when you can't stand by yourself. One line our Youth director Pastor Angel Chipulu always says, "kubafye bwino chapwafye ". Indeed, just be good to people.

Many young men are evolving from being GENTLEMEN to GENTILE MEN then to GE***AL MEN. Today's world 🌍 is littered with men and women who cannot control their passions, lust, desire etc. They sleep with anything they admire, what a sad 😒 world. Social media is flooded with cases of r**e, we need more of the holy spirit as Youths. It's God we need for our generation to be delivered.

The only way to the top unfortunately passes through a place called suffering. Christ passed through it, "For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings." Hebrews 2:10 NKJV. The only way to heaven is the cross and crucibles. The only way to the top of anything is through suffering. I mean, just look at our president, aren't you inspired?

A man who ran for president 6 times, failed 5 of those. Imprisoned not less than 15 times, yet he was determined. Then imwe ba youth with one heartbreak ati I'm killing myself, with just one failure ati I can't do this anymore, you must be joking. Our Youth give up too early. They get discouraged too early. This you should know, life is one tuff stuff, but you gotta push, keep fighting, never give up till you bag the gold. Don't go for the silver like Judas, go for the gold! My good Sir Mr Lemmy always says "Consistency over fads." Kwata consistency na persistence mulumendo!

At the end of it all, our voices can only be amplified and innovation unleashed if we do it the Jesus way. His voice was said 2000 years ago yet still audible today. Things that last take time. To make it you have to be serious. You'll fail many times but be patient, heaven will be yours one day.

As we have faith, we should work. Faith with works is dead. "There is a great work to be done, and every one who names the name of Christ should be a worker together with Him. The indolent, those who merely profess the faith and do nothing, are weighing down the church like a millstone." (Review and Herald, March 1, 1881)

"Young men and young women, press forward. Do not wait for some higher work before you learn to be faithful in the work nearest you. The common duties of life must be performed with fidelity, if you would be qualified for higher responsibilities."
(Messages to Young People, p. 149)

"Young men should remember that they are forming habits which will be with them in their future life. They should be learning perseverance, self-denial, and economy. If they form a character of integrity and diligence, they will be honored of God and esteemed by men."
(Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students, p. 165)

"The Lord desires that the youth shall become useful members of society. They are to be trained to be thinkers, not mere reflectors of other men’s thoughts. They are to be taught to use their God-given abilities in ways that will bless themselves and others." (Education, p. 17)

If we are to gain favor before God and men, we should grow as Christ did, "in wisdom and stature."

HALLOWED πŸ™πŸΎ OR 'HALLOED' πŸ‘‹πŸΎ?

So He said to them, β€œWhen you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven."β€” Luke 11:2 NKJV

The word 'Hallowed' is an old English word meaning to make holy. It means more than saying it, it's doing what makes holy. "Halloed" on the other hand is the past tense or past participle of "hello", which means to shout, call out, or greet someone loudly. Now one might ask, how can you make holy God's name which already is Holy?

Us praying to the father that Hallowed be his name we are living a life testifying to his holiness. If we claim that He is our father, then he needs to be respected, honored and revered in action. Many don't hallow God's name, they hello it.

Prayer is not small talk where we say "hello God, I need this and that." Instead, it is a lifestyle of holiness that shows that we honor God through our deeds. When Paul writes to people at Thessalonica to Pray always he also means to live a life of constant obedience to God. Jesus says:

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."β€” Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

"To give glory to God is to reveal His character in our own, and thus make Him known. And in whatever way we make known the Father or the Son, we glorify God." β€” Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 415

Praying is not just talking to God, it is walking with him. Only those who walk and talk with him will have his name on their foreheads at the end of time. "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads." (Revelation 14:1 ). The common English saying goes like "Actions speak louder than words."

πŸ“Œ Prayer is more than saying, it's doing!
πŸ“Œ Don't Just say Hello πŸ‘‹πŸΎ, Do Hallow πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ.

WHOSE FATHER? OUR FATHER πŸ˜€!

So He said to them, β€œWhen you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.β€œβ€” Luke 11:2 NKJV

Take a minute to just imagine this thought that we share the same Father with Our Creator, wow 😲! In teaching his disciples how to pray, Christ opens with a rather interesting Phrase, "Say Our Father." What does this mean?

John records, "But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12 NKJV) We who were once children of the devil are now given an opportunity to become children of the most High God through Christ.

This opening statement of the Lord's prayer is a promise of the Gospel that today we can be adopted as children of God in the family of Heaven. Christ himself called us brethren, look at these beautiful words he uttered after he resurrected; Jesus said to her, β€œDo not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, β€˜I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ” (John 20:17 NKJV)

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, β€œ Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God , and if children, then heirsβ€”heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ , if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together .β€” Romans 8:14-17 NKJV

Therefore, praying "Our Father in heaven," is changing your name from sinner to saint for our father makes us Holy. It is a deceleration to the world that we Choose a lifestyle of our brother Jesus including all his troubles and his inheritance. We therefore shall not want for the Father in heaven who resurrected Christ is ours. He will restore all things through Christ.

REDEMPTION, MERE HEALING OR RECREATION?

There is a less appreciation for what God has done for humanity through Jesus Christ. Many think Jesus merely came to put makeup on humanity as it is, clean and bandage the wounds and that's all he's done. No brethren, there's more to that! It doesn't end at influencing the morals and health. The sin problem is more than a disease that just needs healing, it is a problem that destroys God's creation and strangles life from it. Therefore what God did in Jesus 2000 years ago was not a mere modification of humanity to make it better, it was a total recreation of it to make it different.

The apostle Paul says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:17-19 KJV ). We are new creatures in Jesus legally, morally and biologically.

Why? Because in Christ is the reality of a whole new line of humanity. This necessitates our being born again into new creatures which basically have been recreated already in Jesus and we become those not by mere imitation but by firstly adoption, secondary transformation of character and thirdly changing of our vile bodies.

Christ therefore today in our lives is not doing a renovation of this body of sin of which Paul cries out "Who shall save me from this body of sin.." no, he is destroying both the self and body to give us a new one. Now he gives us a new heart, mind and spirit as promised "I'll give you a new spirit and heart." In the resurrection and translation he gives us a new body which in reality has righteousness. "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." (Phillipians 3:20-21)

"Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." 2 Peter 3:13 KJV

Therefore hope does not reside within us, it is a sure living reality in Jesus because he is the completed project of redemption for us all. He is not a mere pattern that we need to copy in our own bodies then be saved, no! He is our blessed hope who appears for us before the father as evidence before all the universe of what man could be if he obeys and what we will be when we believe in him. And so regarding our present reality Paul says;

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bo***ge of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." (Romans 8:18-25 KJV)

John beautifully puts it that "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." (1 John 3:2-3 KJV ). Now the creation groans, it is crying for redemption like Paul, when Jesus comes then the world will tremble and seek for rocks and mountains to crush them but we will shout Hallelujah for our life is hid in him who is our Rock of Ages. We now walk by faith not by sight of what goodness there might be in us for it doesn't even appear to the christian. The only perfectly perfect creation we can see now is him who stands before the great tribunal of the universe to impute and impart his righteousness to those who believe.

We need total redemption not mere make up on our v***r life. It is total transformation of the mind so we are told "let this mind be in you also which was in Christ Jesus," (Phillipians 2:5). God is now purifying to himself candidates to occupy the mansions above. We need the regenerating spirit of God. We constantly need to be reminded that God has in Christ reconciled us to himself and that we need to believe in him to share in that reconcilation. We can only know that it can be done in our lives today if we realize it's been done in Jesus, not only as a mere example to follow but as a replacement for what couldn't be done in us and perfection of what is being done in us by the holy spirit.

We need to renounce it all, everything in us including ourselves should be crucified so that Christ lives in us to the glory of God the Father. "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20 KJV)

PALESTINE, ISRAEL OR HEAVEN, WHICH ONE?

Jesus answered, β€œMy kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”— John 18:36

According the encyclopedia Britannica, Jerusalem’s status has been among the most contentious issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for decades. The city is home to hundreds of thousands of people who belong to either nationality, Israeli or Palestinian, and both Israelis and Palestinians want the historic city to serve as their capital. Many more other groups too claim it to still be their holy city.

All the three Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam hold this as a special place and many wars have be fought over this city? The question is, "is it worth the fight?" The Jews at Jesus' time had thought Jesus came to make them reposes Jerusalem fully but were disappointed when he didn't. Instead he said, "My kingdom is not of this world."

What do these words of Jesus imply to you? Jesus is committed to give us more than what this world can offer. He has a better kingdom than Israel and Palestine combined. Jesus wants to give us an eternal Kingdom. Why might God sometimes prioritize giving you everlasting salvation rather than temporal relief from your problems?

THE BABY KING πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘‘

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.β€” Matthew 2:1-2

The arrival of the King of the universe on earth was one of surprise to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. The wise men from the East had studied the signs so they knew that the king had come. When they asked Herod, he seemed confused and scared at the same time. The Roman king figure was so scared that after that he sought to kill Jesus by a decree that all male babies should die.

On the other hand, these wise men had travelled from far to worship a baby πŸ‘ΆπŸ«£? What's going on here? A strong king who has won many battles scared of a harmless baby and fully grown _'wise'_ men from far worshiping a baby King πŸ€”. Scripture records that the wise men even had gifts for the king.

The moment we realize that what was actually happening in Bethlehem was a turning point in history, the better. Satan knew that God's kingdom had finally touched down his territory. The star the wise men had seen was actually a chorus of angels accompanying the baby King.

The wise men therefore understood that there in the manger was not just any other baby, it was the king of the universe. The devil understood this too that's why he acted through Herod. Imagine the threat Jesus brought to the kingdom of darkness when just a baby, what more now, can you not trust him? What is your attitude towards Jesus today, is he just another man or he is your King?

Look at his words now, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty ." (Revelation 1:8)
