Youth Day 2021
Friday was Youth Day. IBC celebrated with our youth by having a Bible challenge, singing, playing games like volleyball, charades, and Bible quizzing. We also ate a nice lunch together. The attendance was 93 youth and 9 adults. We praise the Lord that we were able to spend time with these youth people in a safe and godly environment.

Mr James Silwamba went to be with the Lord on Saturday, 16 2021. At his burial, men stood at attention in honor of him. As a church, we stand at attention and honor him as a godly man. James was an active member of our church. He went faithfully to our witnessing programs, served in various ministries, and helped wherever he could. We are thankful to have known and served the Lord with him.
Please continue to pray for Mrs. Silwamba and the children.
Also pray that God would raise up more godly men like Mr. Silwamba.

Prayer is IMPORTANT!!!
Are YOU praying for your leaders???

Back in February, Pastor Starr preached a message about praying for your leaders from Acts 12:1-5. This week as we prepare to go back to church soon, we need tgese reminders. This is what he shared with us-

PRAYING FOR LEADERS (pulpit committee, heads of ministries, teachers, husbands,...)
Pray for leaders that they-
> take heed to themselves
> walk in the Spirit
> will increase in the knowledge of God
> will stay focused on Biblical responsibilities
> will be protected from spiritual, mental, and physical attacks
> will have strength in spiritual battle
> will be sober and vigilant against the adversary
> are wise stewards of their time
> have unity in their family
> would fight against resentment
> would have a sensitive relationship with the Holy Spirit
> would speak the Word of God with boldness
> when they are worn down, they will be alert to temptation
> Biblical truth will guide their decision making
> would have a hedge of protection around their family
> might be still and know that God is God
> that the Word of God will have free course

Proverbs 31:30
"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain:
but a woman that feareth the Lord,
she shall be praised."

Mrs. Musumbulwa was a woman who feared the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her face shined with a smile to greet you in Christ's love. She cared for her family, church friends, and community. Often, many of us would go to her for wisdom. Mrs. Musumbulwa gave instruction from her personal experience, but based on godly wisdom.
Yesterday, we said goodbye to her on this earth, but we look forward to a future reunion with her in Heaven.
She was a faithful friend, church member, and Sunday School teacher. May God raise up more people at Independent Baptist Church who are faithful and unwilling to compromise with the world. May the young people rise up to be compassionate, godly, and faithful in our church and community.
Will you be one of those considered "faithful" to God?

I Corintians 4:2 "Moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful".

Dear church family,
Let us not forget during this time to fervently pray for God to give us a pastor.
James 5:16b "...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Attention Members:
Beginning tomorrow, 22nd of March, our Sunday services will only begin at 10am and then later in the afternoon at 4pm.
The Minister of Health has put certain restrictions in place, in order for us to stay safe and healthy from the Covid-19 virus.
We urge all members who have health issues, are unwell, have a cold or flu, not to attend services.
We also encourage healthy sanitation by personal hand washing and social distancing. It is best not to shake hands or touch.
If you arrive by transport, contact your driver or someone else on your route, to ensure you catch your lift.

"Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the Most High Thy habitation.
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For He shall give His angels charge over thee,
To keep thee in all thy ways." - Psalm 91:9-11
