John 9:5–7
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam.” So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
Imagine living your entire life in total darkness. You know the world only through touch and sound. Then, a stranger rubs mud on your eyes and tells you to wash. You obey, and suddenly, BOOM. Colors. Shapes. Faces. Sunlight.
This isn't just a story about physical eyes; it’s about a spiritual "reboot." Jesus didn't use a complicated ritual or a long lecture. He used something messy (mud) to create something magnificent (sight).
Often, we think God only works through "perfect" circumstances. But today’s scripture reminds us that God can take the "mud" of our lives our mistakes, our confusion, or our limitations and turn them into the very tools He uses to open our eyes.
The man in the story didn't have all the answers. When the skeptics questioned him later, his response was brilliantly simple: "One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!" (John 9:25).
You don't need to be a theologian to experience God today. You just need to be willing to "wash" where He tells you to wash and trust that His light is stronger than your darkness....
Be washed today in Jesus
