On Sunday, January 18, 2026, the Chisamba West Mission District Dorcas workers gathered at Chisamba Central SDA Church for a historic Dorcas Induction Ceremony. The district-wide program, held under the inspiring theme “We Are Able”, brought together more than 600 Dorcas workers from across congregations, marking a powerful moment of commitment to service and community ministry.
Mwayasunka Congregation’s Contribution
Among the participants, Mwayasunka Congregation proudly presented 60 Dorcas workers for induction, including 9 new members who volunteered with willingness and dedication to serve the Lord and the community whenever duty calls. Their enthusiasm reflected the growing strength of Dorcas ministry in the district.
Elder Ng’ambi, Elder In-Charge, expressed joy at seeing young ladies and youths joining Dorcas. He emphasized that Dorcas is not limited to mothers alone, but is open to all who are willing to serve, encouraging the youth to take up active roles in the ministry.
Mrs. Shanda, Church Dorcas Leader, celebrated the growth of Dorcas membership, urging new members to embrace the fellowship, remain available for programs, and find joy in serving through Dorcas.
Pastor Kwalombota, District Pastor, delivered a heartfelt encouragement message. He praised the unity of Dorcas workers from various churches and reminded them that their induction marks readiness to serve faithfully throughout January to December 2026. He stressed that their work prepares the world for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Chibubi, District Dorcas President, called on all members to attend Dorcas programs consistently at local, district, conference, and union levels. She reminded them that “We are able” and encouraged resourcefulness and productivity in their service.
Mrs. Nyambe, District Dorcas Secretary, reflected on the biblical foundation of Dorcas ministry, citing Acts 19:13–42. She highlighted the importance of community service, affirming that the church cannot prosper without such practical ministry. She reminded members that Dorcas meetings will continue every Sunday and Wednesday.
The ceremony was not only an induction but also a celebration of dedication, unity, and spiritual growth. With hundreds of Dorcas workers committing themselves to service, the Chisamba West Mission District has set a strong foundation for impactful ministry in 2026. The event demonstrated that Dorcas is a ministry for all—mothers, youths, and new volunteers alike—united in the mission to serve the community and prepare for Christ's return.
