SOCIAL COMMITTEE EXTENDS A HELPING HAND TO THE VULNERABLE
The Social Committee of United Church of Zambia, Isoka Main Congregation, has demonstrated the love of Christ through an important act of compassion and generosity, donating various items to support vulnerable members of the church and individuals from other congregations who are in need.
The initiative was aimed at reaching out to those facing different challenges in their daily lives, reminding them that they are not alone and that the church continues to stand with them during difficult times.
Through the donations, the Social Committee provided various items to beneficiaries as a practical expression of love, care and Christian fellowship. The gesture not only addressed some of the immediate needs of the beneficiaries but also brought hope, encouragement and a sense of belonging.
Speaking during the occasion, The minister in charge Reverend L Kaluba emphasized the importance of caring for one another, especially those who are vulnerable and less privileged. The Minister incharge noted that the church is called to demonstrate God's love not only through preaching and prayer, but also through practical acts of kindness and support.
The donations also extended beyond the boundaries of Isoka Main Congregation, reaching vulnerable individuals from other congregations. This demonstrated the committee's commitment to promoting unity, compassion and fellowship within the wider body of Christ.
The initiative reflects the teaching of Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:40, where He reminds His followers that whatever they do for those in need, they do for Him.
The Social Committee has therefore been commended for its commitment to serving God's people and putting Christian values into action. The gesture serves as an encouragement to other church members to continue supporting those in need according to their abilities.
As a church, we are reminded that even a small act of kindness can make a great difference in someone's life. Through unity, generosity and love, the church can continue to be a source of hope to the vulnerable and a blessing to the wider community.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18
