Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
Meeting Jesus in an unexpected manner. Peter was a human being like us he had weakness and strength within him but something in his life came through. He met Jesus when he was busy with his business of fishing fish. Peter toiled all night but couldn't get any fish. How many times have we toiled and we don't find? This man had all expectations that he will caught some fish and sell for his living was catching fish. If you read verse 4 through 7,you will notice something lacking in Peter that he couldn't find what he wanted. Jesus said to him, "launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch"but Peter answered and said to Him," Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nonetheless at your word I will let down the net" Peter at first he complained of lacking the fish. We have a tendency of complaining about God over certain issues that we do not see clearly but when Peter obeyed the Lord something happened in his life. Your fish is within your gate. You have eyes but you can't see, you have ears but you can't hear, you hear but you don't understand so is complaining and murmuring towards God. Peter said something that he had never said in his fishing career.Verse 8, " Depart from me , for I am a sinful man, O Lord".All were astonished at the catch of fish. What you are lacking is near you what you need is faith in the Lord. Faith alone will astonish people and as you trust God and learn to do His will, your faith shall grow. I believe you have learned and been blessed by the grace of God.
