THANKSGIVING – WE GIVE THANKS TO THE CREATOR

The message for Thanksgiving 2026, on October 4, highlighted that the heavens and all of creation are a testimony to God's existence, power, and glory.

During the divine service for Thanksgiving conducted by Apostle Ringson Ndambo in Lukwata, Nongobbila District, which centered on the Bible text in Psalm 19:1, the Apostle stated that the beauty and complexity of the universe are a declaration of God's greatness. The stars, planets, and galaxies all proclaim the work of God's hands.

The Apostle emphasized that God's revelation is not limited to just one way or means; rather, God's presence and character are made known through all of creation.

He affirmed that God's power and wisdom are far beyond our ability to fully understand. This teaches us to approach God with humility and reverence, acknowledging that He is a God of great majesty and power.

In concluding his sermon, the Apostle called upon the members to live in a way that reflects God's glory and proclaims His greatness to others.

Also during the service, the Apostle placed Priest Christopher Halusaka of Lukwata Congregation into a well-deserved retirement after 34 years of faithful service in the church.

DAY OF THE CHILD IN KABUMBWE

The New Apostolic Church celebrates a festival known as the "Day of the Child" atleast once a year, providing children with an opportunity to cherish and celebrate their childhood experiences while nurturing their faith.

In Choma, the 2026 Day of the Child was celebrated at Kabumbwe on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

A total of 1,548 children from various districts within the Choma Sub-Area gathered for the event.

Apostle Ringson Ndambo graced the occasion.

The children showcased a variety of presentations, including recreational activities, Bible lessons, musical performances, poems, interviews, and plays depicting a divine service.

On Sunday morning, September 27, 2026, the Apostle conducted a divine service centered on Luke 11:1 [excerpt] “Lord, teach us to pray"

The Apostle encouraged the children to appreciate the importance of prayer, and inspired them to cultivate a desire to learn how to pray, just as Jesus' disciples did.

This message reinforced the 2026 theme, "Don't be afraid, just believe," highlighting God's unwavering support for those who face fear and uncertainty, also as seen in various biblical accounts.

Following the divine service, the Apostle announced the appointments of Priest Dada Kanyinji as Assistant Area Sunday School Coordinator and Sister Yvonne Ngoma Sansali as Sub-Area Sunday School Coordinator, effect September 27, 2026.

DIVINE SERVICE FOR THE CHILDREN IN KABUMBWE

A total of 2,069 members attended a divine service for the [Choma Sub-Area] children conducted by Apostle Ringson Ndambo in Kabumbwe, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, marking the culmination of the "Day of the Child" event.

The divine service was based on Luke 11:1 [excerpt]

“Lord, teach us to pray”

In his message, the Apostle reminded the children that even though Jesus was the Son of God, He still prayed to His Father. This demonstrates the supreme importance of prayer and shows how deeply Jesus valued His relationship with God.

The disciples did not ask Jesus to teach them without reason; they asked after observing Him pray. His personal devotion awakened a spiritual hunger within them. Their request, “teach us to pray” proves that prayer is a spiritual practice that can be learned and cultivated.

Highlighting the spirit of prayer, the Apostle noted that prayer is a request, not a command. The disciples did not demand instruction from Jesus; they asked humbly, illustrating that prayer is a respectful, submissive conversation with God.

The Apostle further emphasized that children learn how to pray by watching their parents and leaders.

When young ones observe adults regularly bringing their joys, fears, and daily routines to God, prayer naturally becomes a way of life rather than a forced obligation.

The Apostle called upon parents to actively guide their children in developing a deeper understanding of prayer and a stronger personal relationship with God.

Following the celebration of Holy Communion, the Apostle bestowed a Pearl Marriage Anniversary blessing (30 years) upon Shepherd Emmanuel Hakwiya Kooma and his wife, Ruth Tawila Kooma, celebrating the beauty and resilience built through 3 decades of overcoming life's challenges together.

After the congregation sang the closing hymn, "Nako nkhutowa" the Apostle announced two new appointments:

Priest Dada Kanyinji as the Assistant Area Sunday School Coordinator and Sister Yvonne Ngoma Sansali as the Sub-Area Sunday School Coordinator.

DIVINE SERVICES IN NALWIINGA & CHILUMBWE

Nalwiinga is a modest congregation in Nalube District.

Apostle Ringson Ndambo visited this congregation on Sunday, September 20, 2026, and conducted a divine service at 9am.

This divine service was attended by 199 members, with the sermon based on Deuteronomy 28:2.

Background

When the Israelites were about to enter the Promised Land, Moses instructed them to divide into two groups. The Levites, led by the priests, were to stand between the two groups and pronounce blessings and curses. The purpose of this exercise was to remind the Israelites of the consequences of their actions: if they obeyed God's laws and commands, they would receive blessings; however, if they disobeyed, they would face curses.

In his sermon, the Apostle explained that Jesus' teachings emphasize these same principles while also revealing the New Covenant of grace and salvation through faith in Him.
He called upon the congregation to prioritize the ultimate blessing: a relationship with God and eternal life.

Called to serve during the service were Priests Tolokesi and Munsaka, Assistant District Rector Lubinda Mukuma of Macha, and Shepherd Mitas Simuzingili.

During the service, 11 souls received the gift of Holy Sealing.

The Apostle also bestowed a Silver Marriage Anniversary Blessing upon the couple, Milambo Holden Simuunza and his wife, Concilia Matongo Milambo.

Following this divine service, the Apostle and his entourage proceeded to Chilumbwe in Lupata District for another divine service at 2:30pm.

Micah 6:6 was the basis for the sermon.

Here, the Apostle highlighted that God seeks our hearts above outer actions. He emphasized the importance of surrendering our will, desires, and lives to Him, calling on the members to also strive to give back a portion of what God has blessed them with as an offering.
