Good Morning to you all.
What a Message it was yesterday! Pastor John was used mightily by the Spirit of God to deliver to us mighty revelations on the death of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. The Message was entitled, "The Seven Words of Jesus Christ before he died".
The man of God explained how Jesus felt when finally the whole weight of the sins of the whole world was leveled upon him, how Jesus sought his father for another possible way or formula of saving mankind from sin and its consequences but the father gave Jesus his back and never answered his prayer (Math 26:38-39). He said at that moment Jesus was regarded as a sinner (an out cast, cursed and condemned to died) "not a son of God". In other words, the World was at that moment justified of its sins, Jesus taking our place of sin and condemnation, giving up his place of righteousness and glory to us.
In Luke 23:27-28, a great crowd of women followed and wept for Jesus. Among them was his mother who saw him grow as an obedient son, righteous, blameless, favored both by men and God. Than of God also revealed that the mother of Jesus didn't only know him as an ordinary son, but a miracle doer, one who performed more miracles at home even before he went publicly into ministry.
He said That's why even at the wedding of Cana the Mother went his son and said even here do what you do at home (perform as you perform miracles at home). And she, knowing her son too well, went his disciples and told them, 'what he tells you, do it. The man of God said it was a painful experience for the mother of Jesus to see her son she loved on the cross condemned to die a shameful death.
But Jesus called her and told her that the one she was looking at was no longer the son she knew. He said, at that moment, Jesus had taken up the place of the first Adam (who had no mother, only a father) who had sinned and condemned to die. (John 19:25-26)
After embarrassing, bruising, and crucifying him on the cross, darkness which represented judgement, covered the whole world, and Jesus truly felt the separation from his father. He cried, "father, father, why have you forsaken me?" (Math 27: 45-46). He was judged as a sinner who deserved to died, forsaken by his father and all his disciples, for us to be justified and accepted into God's glorious family of the living.
In John 19 :28, knowing that all scriptures concerning his mission on earth had been fulfilled, Jesus said he was thirsty. Pastor John stressed that Jesus's energy and confidence came when he realized that everything else had been done according to scripture, setting the platform for the last or finishing brow. At that moment, Jesus thirsted to do the will of the father, which was to die and set mankind free from death (Adam's punishment).
In John 19:30, Jesus said, "it is finished". Pastor said that Jesus meant that death was finished, sicknesses, barrenness, pain and all kinds of sufferings, dominion of sin, and everything that tormented the whole world was done away with. in other words, every evil power or dominion was destroyed. So what we see the devil doing now is a fake display of fake power. Seeing that that there was no one to kill Jesus (take way his life), he on his own gave up his his ghost(spirit) with a loud voice(died and opened the seven seals talked about in Rev 5:1-10) to seal his declarations.
