Spirit or Flesh - You Choose Daily
Galatians 5:1-18

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want."
Galatians 5:16-17, NIV

Paul describes a battle inside every believer: flesh versus Spirit. The flesh-worldly desires, selfish impulses, sinful patterns—wars against the Spirit's leading. You live caught between two forces pulling in opposite directions.
But you have power in this battle. The Holy Spirit lives in you, and He's stronger than any fleshly desire.
Walking by the Spirit means choosing His way daily, moment by moment. It's not a one-time decision. It's continuous choosing.
The good news: when you choose the Spirit, He produces life, freedom, and victory. When you choose the flesh, it produces death and bo***ge. Choose wisely. Choose the Spirit.

Dear God,
Help me choose You daily. I feel the conflict between flesh and Spirit within me. Give me strength to choose Your way, even when my desires pull me elsewhere. I want to walk by the Spirit. When I mess up, Father, and choose the usual, easy road, please remind me of Your presence in me through Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Spirit Sustains Through Shaking
Matthew 24:7 & Romans 8

"We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies."
Romans 8:22, NIV

Jesus predicted famines and earthquakes in various places. Paul explained: creation itself is groaning under the weight of sin, waiting for redemption. The end times bring increasing natural disasters, resource shortages, and environmental chaos.
This isn't random or meaningless. It's creation crying out for restoration. The Holy Spirit living in believers is
"the firstfruits" of redemption, a guarantee of God's coming renewal. He sustains us through Earth's shaking.
When disasters strike, remember: this is not your final home (at least, not yet). The Spirit in you guarantees a New Earth is coming. He provides what you need for today while you wait for tomorrow's restoration.

Dear God,
As creation groans, steady me with the Holy Spirit. You are my provider and sustainer through every shaking. Help me trust that though the earth quakes, You are unmoved and faithful.
Remind me of Your faithfulness daily.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
