Good day all
This morning I would like to reason with us in a few lines on what we call..
GIVING TO GOD almighty?.
By the way when we say giving it could be .... financial, material, time etc.
Now the question is do we really give to God as many may know.
Let's look at a few scriptures
1 Chronicles 29:14
[14]But who am I, and what are my people, that we should retain strength and be able to offer thus so willingly? For all things come from You, and out of Your own [hand] we have given You.
Acts 2:45
[45]And they sold their possessions (both their landed property and their movable goods) and distributed the price among all, according as any had need.
Malachi 3:10
[10]Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. [Mal. 2:2.]
We see from the scriptures that giving in these three examples...
Was first...
1.To ward's building the house of Worship.
2.The early church believers gave to the church through the apostles.
3.The Levites where commanded to bring the full measure of Tithe to the house of the lord.
Lessons.
When people gave they gave to God's work(which is believers responsibility, using what God has entrusted as with)
They gave so that church activities, should continue such as paying, rentals, paying some church workers, meeting needs amongst the needy.
And sometimes we give directly to a servant of God.
Why give?
1.Its an act of Worship towards God.. ..as a part of our worship.... acknowledging him in gratitude for receiving from him as our giver.
Proverbs 3:9
[9]Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income; [Deut. 26:2; Mal. 3:10; Luke 14:13, 14.]
2.Whatever we have belong to him we are simply managers....so if he asks of us it we gladly give back to him.(1: chronicles 29;14)
I close by saying we don't give to God (for everything is His)..., but we give towards the Work of God through the church structures(admin,)
I hope from now we will be able to give with more understanding.
