EL SHADDAI — The All-Sufficient God

One of the most powerful names of God in the Bible is El Shaddai, which means “God Almighty” or “The All-Sufficient One.” This name reveals a God who is more than enough for every need, every battle, and every promise in our lives.

The name El Shaddai first appears when God revealed Himself to Abraham at a time when the promise of a son seemed humanly impossible. Abraham was old, his wife Sarah was barren, and hope seemed gone. Yet God declared:
“I am God Almighty (El Shaddai); walk before Me faithfully and be blameless.”
— Genesis 17:1

Did you know Jacob was buried with Leah, not Rachel?
Not the woman he loved.
Not the one he cried for.
Not the one he labored fourteen years to have.
Leah.
In Genesis 49:29–31, when Jacob was about to die, he gave a clear instruction:
“Bury me… in the cave… where Abraham and Sarah are… Isaac and Rebekah… and there I buried Leah.”

Pause.
Rachel was his passion.
Leah was his alignment.
Rachel was the love story.
Leah was the covenant story.
Rachel had his emotions.
Leah carried the promise.
Rachel was buried on the roadside (Genesis 35:19).

Leah was laid in the ancestral grave of covenant—the lineage of God’s dealings.
And here is the mystery:
Leah was the rejected one.
The one Jacob didn’t choose.
The one he endured, not desired.
But heaven chose her.
From Leah came Judah.
From Judah came Jesus Christ.
Let that settle in your spirit—
The woman rejected by a man
became central to God’s redemptive plan.
This is where many people miss it:
We are all trying to be “Rachel”—
seen, desired, celebrated.

But God builds legacy through “Leah seasons”—
hidden places, painful processes, quiet obedience.

Jacob’s final decision was not emotional—
it was spiritual alignment.
At the end of his life,
he didn’t choose love…
he chose covenant.

And that is the gospel pattern:
God does not build His purposes on human preference.
He builds on grace and election.
So if you feel overlooked…
if you feel like second choice…
if life has not chosen you first—
hear this clearly:
God’s choice overrides man’s rejection.
You may not be preferred by people,
but you can be positioned by God.
And when God positions a man,
history is rewritten.

Because in God’s hands,
the rejected become vessels,
the unseen become pillars,
and the overlooked become eternal significance.

If you are in your Leah season—

You are being written into something bigger.

Growing in the things of God requires much wisdom and discernment. Deuteronomy reveals two kinds of people.

One group waits for a prophecy to come to pass before they believe in the prophet, and whilst this is a good approach it is not a sufficient measure and one can still be ensnared. More than prophecy or miracles, your confidence should rest on the teaching of the Word.
After miracles and prophecies, discernment is still a must because the chapter goes on to warn that such a prophet, even if he prophesied accurately, can still try to lead you to other gods, and if he is to do that you must not regard him.

This is why you must sit under sound teaching that leads you to a revelation and understanding of the true God. Truly know the God you follow.

At that level, you become the other kind of believer who doesn’t follow signs but follows God and once you have him as your focus no prophecy or miracle can ever pull you away to a false belief.

John 14:3(KJV) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

There are so many mysteries that surround the true nature and power of the Resurrection.

In this scripture Jesus wasnt just talking about his second coming; He was also telling us of a certain glorified state where He can accommodate us all. He was letting us know that when He is raised with a glorified body, He will receive us not into heaven but into Himself because after resurrection, Jesus has the capacity to admit all of us into His body.

This is why 2 Cor 5.17 speaks of how if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.

Also, through His ascension, Jesus was illustrating to us how we would be lifted in the same way. Child of God we have an inheritance from him, to be raised above circumstances and situations, because we are partakers of his Glorified Body.
