YOUTH, RISE UP AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GOD’S PRESENCE
Theme: Another Year of Rising Up
Key Scripture
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.”
— Isaiah 60:1
Introduction
This is not just another year on the calendar—it is another year of opportunity. God’s presence is available, His power is ready, and His promises are sure. But God’s presence must be taken advantage of, not ignored. Youth are not the leaders of tomorrow only; they are God’s instruments today.
1. God Calls the Youth to Rise Up
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers…”
— 1 Timothy 4:12
God does not wait for age; He looks for availability. Rising up means refusing laziness, fear, and excuses.
Example – David
David was young, but he rose up in God’s presence and defeated Goliath (1 Samuel 17). While others saw a giant, David saw an opportunity for God’s glory.
👉 Lesson: Age is not a limitation when God is present.
Illustration
Like a phone with full battery but never switched on—many youths have potential, but until they rise up, nothing happens.
2. God’s Presence Is the Key to Rising
“In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
— Psalm 16:11
When you stay in God’s presence through prayer, the Word, and obedience, strength is renewed.
Example – Moses
Moses rose above fear and excuses because God said:
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
— Exodus 33:14
👉 Lesson: Without God’s presence, rising becomes struggle; with it, rising becomes certain.
3. Youth Who Rose Up and Took Advantage of God’s Presence
(a) Joseph
“The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man.”
— Genesis 39:2
Joseph was young, rejected, and imprisoned—but God’s presence lifted him to the palace.
(b) Daniel and His Friends
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…”
— Daniel 1:8
They rose up spiritually first, and God raised them publicly.
👉 Lesson: Holiness and discipline attract God’s presence.
4. This Is Another Year to Rise Up
“The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”
— Proverbs 4:18
Rising is progressive. This year must be better spiritually, mentally, and purposefully than last year.
Illustration
An eagle does not rise by flapping with chickens. To rise, you must separate yourself from distractions and negative influences.
5. How Youth Can Rise Up This Year
Commit to God daily (Joshua 1:8)
Live a disciplined life (1 Corinthians 9:27)
Avoid sinful distractions (2 Timothy 2:22)
Serve God faithfully (Romans 12:11)
Believe God for greater things (Ephesians 3:20)
Conclusion
Youth, this is your year to rise. God’s presence is available, His grace is sufficient, and His power is real.
“Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”
— Isaiah 40:31
🔥 Rise up in prayer
🔥 Rise up in holiness
🔥 Rise up in purpose
Do not sit where God has called you to stand.
Do not sleep where God has commanded you to rise.
