WORD OF GOD BY APOSTLE JOSEPH YEBOAH
1 Chronicles 14:8–17
In this chapter, the Philistines heard that David had been anointed. When you are anointed, you do not need to announce yourself. The anointing announces you. There is an announcement, and there is a victory proclamation. The Bible says that when the Philistines heard, they came against David.
Before David became king, the Philistines had already battled Israel. God does not operate by probability. David had five stones against Goliath, but he used only one. God does not miss targets; there is no "try again" with God. David took five stones and used one. Among the Philistines were five giants, including Goliath.
When David took the five stones, all five giants were eventually defeated. God does not miss a target. If five stones were given, then there were five targets. God does not waste weapons. Whatever gift God has given you, whatever act of service He has placed in your life, He does not waste it. Every gift has a target to bring down.
The weapons of our warfare are mighty. May God help you use them for His glory. Every gift has a purpose and a use. It is not a mistake that you have that gift. It is not too much; use all of them. God did not bless you by mistake. It is not an error that you have those gifts. They are all weapons, and you must use them because God does not waste weapons.
Every gift in you must be fanned into flame and put to use. Do not be lazy with your stones. God has a purpose for every stone.
After David defeated Goliath, his mighty men defeated the other giants. After all those battles, more battles came. We may think the stones are finished because the giants are gone, but after one war comes another. Do not get tired of fighting; get used to winning.
If you ask God, "Why me?" He may ask, "Why not you?" When Jesus prayed, "Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me," He did not receive the answer He was hoping for. God does not answer "Why me?" but He answers "Why not you?"
Do not get tired of fighting; get used to winning. After this battle, another one is coming. If everything you try seems to fail, do not get tired of fighting. Get used to winning. When you ask, "Why me?" you may get no answer. But when you ask, "Why not me?" you begin to understand your assignment.
When Jesus said, "Nevertheless, not My will, but Yours be done," God responded immediately and sent an angel to strengthen Him.
The devil has been defeated. To be defeated means to be broken beyond repair. Yet in the Kingdom of God, a defeated enemy is still allowed to use devices and schemes. The devil is defeated, but the mystery of the Kingdom is that he can still use devices to seek advantage, even though his ultimate defeat has already been secured.
This is the mystery. Do not get tired of fighting; get used to winning. Jesus defeated the enemy and secured the victory. Therefore, we fight from a position of victory. Jesus stands and declares, "I have defeated the enemy."
We fight against the devices of the devil. When we understand his devices, we fight them from a place of victory. Many people ask why we pray and fast if Jesus finished the work on the cross. The reason is that we must have revelation and understanding that although the enemy is defeated, he still uses devices against us.
After the five stones, the enemy still sought other ways to fight. Therefore, we must find fresh weapons and strategies in the Word of God. Because the enemy has devices, we must also have access to unlimited spiritual weapons.
There were five giants and five stones. There are people, and there are places. Both can become giant forms of resistance.
Whenever a battle involving giants took place in the Bible, the location was also mentioned. Sometimes you may conquer a person but forget to conquer the place. Sometimes the strong man in a bloodline may fall, but the territory remains.
When you come against a giant, you must come against both the being and the place. In the Book of Acts, the Bible says they were all in one accord in one place because the power of God deals with both people and territory.
The same power that slew giants came upon the apostles. Suddenly there came a sound from heaven, and the move of God filled the place. The Holy Spirit filled the place before filling the people. Revival is territorial.
God told Abraham to walk throughout the land because he was not only meant to possess people but also territory. No promised land is unoccupied. Do not get tired of fighting; get used to winning.
Canaan was not empty. When the spies arrived, they saw giant men. They returned carrying a cluster of grapes so large that two men had to carry it. In the land of Canaan there were giant blessings, but there were also giant resistances.
Do not get tired of fighting; get used to winning against every resistance of the enemy.
David went to inquire of the Lord, and God sent him into battle. Even after that victory, another battle arose. In one particular battle, God instructed him to wait by the mulberry trees, where he would hear the sound of marching.
When you seek God and desire to hear His voice, there is a process with different levels. One principle of prophetic inquiry is learning to hear nothing before you hear something.
The mystery of the universe is that God created something out of nothing. Therefore, learn to hear nothing before you hear something.
When you seek God, you must learn to wait. As you mature spiritually, you discover that there is speed in waiting.
In the plant kingdom, one of the fastest movements is associated with the mulberry tree. As David waited under the mulberry trees, he was connecting with the principle of speed in waiting.
Wait on the Lord, no matter how long it takes. There is a sound of victory before this year comes to an end. The last shall be first.
Under the mulberry tree there is speed. The Bible says that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Speed will replace delay. Your destiny is changing permanently. Grace has spoken, and grace will perform.
There is speed in waiting. Your God is not late concerning your situation. Time cannot tell Eternity that it is late.
There is a sound of victory.
