7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.'' 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Ascension Day – Praise and Prayer

To All Pastors, Secretaries, Lay Leaders and Members.

Greeting in the Name of our Ascended Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven after His glorious resurrection remains a pivotal event in Christian theology. It marks the completion of Christ’s early ministry and the beginning of His heavenly reign as our Great High Priest who lives forever making intercession for His children. (Hebrews 7:25)

Please, will you allow me to share some Praise items and Prayer requests. If you can please send them on to your members and join in thanksgiving and intercession, it will be much appreciated. You may want to share it on Ascension Day or this coming Sunday at your worship services.

Praise God For:

· All our churches who celebrated the Easter weekend. Many churches had special event, rallies, conventions, open air meetings and evangelistic campaigns, spreading the gospel of God’s salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The fruitful Missions Consultation held at MRCC in April. The Missions Consultation was attended by at least 95 people of who 30 were church planters and 8 full time missionaries.

· Many young people who attended the Friday night Missions Consultation were challenged when Dr. Everton Jackson from Jamaica, spoke on the theme: ‘Fired up for Missions’ and surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ.

· Cape Town Baptist Seminary did some deputation and a Missions Week in Durban recently. Some people showed a keen interest in studying theology.

· The Women’s Department (Women in Ministry Network) held their annual ‘Reload’ conference at MRCC, over 180 women attended, it was the highest attendance since lock-down. The guest speaker was Mrs Nosipho Swart, and several other speakers held special workshops and electives.

Please Pray For:

§ For our Theological Training Institutions, the principals, Dr. Darryl Soal and Prof.Godfrey Harold, their staff, faculty and students.

§ Please pray for Baptist Theological College in JHB as they seek God’s guidance in the calling of a new Registrar.

§ Please pray for all our local congregations who are without a bi-vocational or full-time pastor.

§ Please pray for the upcoming 23rd Baptist World Alliance Congress in Brisbane, Australia. Pray for safe travelling for all global delegates and the speakers and workshops that will be held from 5-12 July.

§ Pray also for our country and our government. Pray also for countries at are presently at war and the many innocent people killed, maimed and left without food, shelter, health care and water.

§ Please pray for our upcoming Baptist Union Assembly in October, with all the necessary preparation that need to be done.

§ Please pray as you are directed by the Holy Spirit of God for whatever His prompts you to pray, but please pray!

Thank you, Baptist Family, for interceding on behalf of others as our High Priest, Jesus Christ intercedes for us.

In the Name of the Ascended and Coming King, Jesus Christ.
