"Waiting upon the Lord"

Isaiah 40:28-31
[28] Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.
[29] He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. [II Cor. 12:9.]
[30] Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;
[31] But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. [Heb. 12:1-3.]
Do you not know or heard that the Lord is the everlasting God, here prophet Isaiah is preparing his listeners the kind of God he is presenting unto them, hence he said unto them did you not know or heard that the God we serve is everlasting, He is not a temporary, not a seasonary but a permanent God. He was trying to say to them the God we are coming with today He is a reliable God because He is in every season and place.
He was saying to his listeners [those whom he wrote letters to] that you are temporary in this place and limited to time, but the God I am presenting to you He is not limited to time, He is everlasting He was before you were and still be after you are. He was preparing them to understand the call he was presenting to them.
You need to understand as a believer in God or a creature or person who is worshipping God, that the ability in God determines your strength in battle. So the Prophet was saying the God I am speaking about He is all hearing and present at anytime. There is no a time you will call upon Him and doesnt respond because He is tired.
No time you will pray, call upon Him and doesnt respond because He is asleep. That is why when the Prophet challenge the prophet of Baal, he understood the type of God he was serving. It wasnt the matter of time and place with our God nor how many prophets who did not believe but a matter of who was calling on Him.
This is the reason why the Prophet of God continue to mork the prophet of Baal to say maybe your god is asleep because he is not like my God as He doesnt sleep nor slumber. This is the confidence we need to have or know our God with, so that God's ability to be our ability. (see 1 Kings 18)
Because when you know that your God doesnt sleep nor slumber you come to a realization that you dont need to wakeup at night fearing of what is happening, because you know that your God is watching over you. That's the kind of God we are serving and have a previledge to call our God. One man of God love playing saying our God is so big that He is everywhere at anytime (omnipotent).
And at the same time He can decide to be at the certain place and while still be at that place He is still at, at the former place He was. At the end of it all He can bumb [meet] Himself while going to where He is going and coming back to where He was. So He is God who is everywhere yet can volume Himself at one place, there is nowhere as a believer where you can find youself feeling like God is not there with you, for the fact He said He is God with us [immanuel] He is God who is everywhere. (See 1 Corinthians 15:6).
Even though He is not there because of you, it doesnt change the fact that He is not there.
Last we were dealing with the issue of the land and said we need to speak and command the land, so we may take position of the land. But we need to know we don't battle with the land because God is not there, we battle with the land because there are principles that are set in place to reposses the land it has been given. And repossesing the land God is already there with and for us.
When God took the children of Israel from Egypt to the promise land. God took them out from Egypt while He was already at the promise land, He was not taking them where He was not, and He already took the promise land from those cannites and gave them to the children of Israel. The delay was with the children of Israel, because they did not wait patiently upon the Lord.
They did not rely, trust and believe the Lord.
So God was not ready to give the promise land to people who did not believe, trust and rely in Him. There are things as believers that we are praying for but not possessing them, because we have not yet trusted God enough that when we possess the land, God will trust us with the land.
.Immediately when they left Egypt along the way they have not possess their land [promised land]. They are walking with God but already in them [their hearts] they have created god who has not led them there. So that alone was a sign that they were not ready to possess the land.

So waiting upon the Lord doesnt weaken us, because when we think we are loosing strength, the Lord is increasing our strength and give us power.
But in waiting upon the Lord, many think its a waste of time, they could have done and reach alot. But in doing so they are not aware they are drawing from their own strength and unable to stand upon the strength of the Lord, but when you wait upon the strength of the Lord, it is not your strength you will rise with, but strength and power of God.
So that is number one advantage of waiting upon the Lord, you will not use your own strength and power, but He will empower you while waiting upon Him.

When talking about youth, youth are people who are in power [full of strength], who are at the right age of power and strongest point of their life. And He says even their youth goes weary, because they are busy with activities that are drawing their power, they are not waiting upon the Lord but misusing their strength thinking that they are building on their own.
So Prophet Isaiah is quoting it correctly to say the youth is growing weary(tired, old), though they are not in a state of being old, but growing old because they are not waiting upon the Lord. So when you dont wait upon the Lord you are using yourself and existing without purpose. It is purpose that causes you to wait upon the Lord, for you know where the Lord is taking you.
The moment you go weary it is becauee you are not on the waiting place of the Lord. But you are pursuing [things] with your own strength and ability.
When you calculate on what Prophet Isaiah is saying there is something wrong, because you cannot say the youth is going weary but they are.
They are not waiting upon the Lord. They have not used their power and strength for the purpose of the Lord, but wasting their strength on things that are not important.
One thing we need to realise is when we have not find or found our purpose then we are not yet alive, because life begins when you encounter your purpose. Youth goes weary because they have not find their purpose in life. Yes they have energy but they are using their energy on wrong things because they dont know their purpose.
