Love your Mother
John 19:26-27 “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.”

Love her verbally, physically, patiently, attentively, gratefully, generously, honorably.

As God, Jesus is dealing with eternal matters, but as a man, He’s showing all of us today how important it is to take care and love our mothers!

You cannot be will-fully wrong with your mother and be right with God.

Love your mother.

1. Love her verbally. – Your wife and your mom, no matter your age or hers need’s to hear “I love You” – you can never say it too much.

Some men would say, I’m just not turned that way…then turn around! “I’m just not comfortable”…then be uncomfortable!

2. Love her physically.
When’s the last time you gave her a big hug without her asking for it…or a kiss on the cheek, or a neck rub, or just sat on the couch and held her for a change?

She’s the first person who ever touched you…she wrapped you up in her womb for months, and you came out and her first priority was to hold you, and she cuddled you, and cared for you.

3. Love her patiently.
Mothers have an incredible job without pay. No position in the business world compares to the physical, emotional, and spiritual commitment she has in motherhood. Love her patiently. Because she’s tender to your needs is no reason to take advantage of her, it’s reason to be patient and to love her all the more!

Teenagers and younger - it is unfair for you to be more kind, considerate, patient with your friends and your friend’s mothers than your own mother!

Your mom deserves better…she’s not a rug to wipe every negative thought on! Time, Patience, and Understanding. Those are priceless gifts that she needs.

4. Love her thoughtfully/kindly.
Mothers listen as you pour out your heart…she has a sympathetic ear, and always has…and even as an adult you’ve gone to her when you want someone who will really listen and understand…and she’ll always be on your side.

5. Love her gratefully.
She needs a sincere thank you, and not just today - everyday, but from a genuinely thankful heart when least expected! All the time

6. Love her generously.
There’s nothing too good for her, we could never repay her, but we ought to die trying before she does! She didn’t spend on herself unless all your needs were met…

7. Love her honourably.
Exodus 20:12 ““Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Lord, help us never to be too busy for mom. If you could take time and great effort for her on the cross in your death, help us to love her while we have her in our life! In Jesus Name Amen

Read Philippians 4:4-13; vs 13 "I can do anything through him who gives me strength."

When your plans and hopes are shattered and your dreams destroyed, God can pour His strength into your weakened soul and reconstruct your shattered plans, making them far better than what they were before.

When you experience silent times when your hopes and dreams have been delayed or destroyed, know that God is preparing something greater for you.

God NEVER abandons His children.

When you feel you are at the end of the rope, TIE a knot and hand on.l

Dear Heavenly Father, You are always worthy of praise, Lord, even when we don’t feel like praising You! Help us to learn to praise You more and more. It is because we are born to praise You.

We do not fear this day, for You are with us wherever we might go, Your light to shine ahead, Your footsteps to lead the way, and Your word will be our guide. Your strength will sustain us and your love revive us, this day and all days. We do not fear this day, for you are with us.

May Your Word be planted deeply in our minds and hearts. Help us not to walk away and forget it, but to meditate on it and obey it and so build our lives on the rock of your truth. In Christ name, we pray.

Prayer for all today.

Dear God, purge me and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

Grant me by the same Spirit to be guided in my work today, and in my every thought and deed and in everything I say.

Let my decisions be wise and holy, and my ears open to Your wisdom. And let me always be open to change; unblock my ears and soften my heart, so that I can learn your way better and better every hour of this day and every day here after.

If you are with me, O God, who can be against me? For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus my Lord. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 12:12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Constantly rejoice in hope because of your confidence in Christ Jesus. Be steadfast and in times of distress. Be devoted to prayer. Continually seek wisdom, guidance, and strength from Christ Jesus.

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in times of trouble and never stop praying.

Link to Life

God's Holy Spirit gives us access to abundant spiritual life in Christ. When we accept Christ as Lord, God washes our sins away and renews us:

Titus 3:5-6 "he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, [6] 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,"

Once we know Christ, the Holy Spirit helps us experience God's love.

Romans 5:5 "And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

Helps us understand God's Word.

John 14:26 "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

Helps us to pray.

Romans 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."

And abound us in hope, joy and peace.

Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Today, as you think about your relationship with God, remember that the Spirit is your guide to life in Christ.

Romans 8:14 "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God."

The Holy Spirit guides us into knowledge and spiritual growth.

False Hope
Many people today have false hope that they can earn a place in heaven by working at being good or by doing good things. God's standard of perfection, however, requires a totally sinless life.

There's no way any of us can ever be "good enough" It is only through the sacrifice of the sinless Savior that we are made righteous.

2 Cor. 5:21 "God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

Eternal life is given because of God's gift of grace - not because of our good works

Eph. 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."

Don't let Satan trick you by giving you false hope that your good works will save you. It is only through Jesus' work on the cross that you can have real freedom. We are not saved by good works, but by God's work

Don't wait to accept Jesus as your personal Saviour, you don't know when your time on earth is up!

"Pray without ceasing"

God encourages us in His Word to never stop praying. Praying without ceasing means to not stop in communicating with Him. It is continuous. It is a never ending process.

Be unceasing and persistent in prayer. Pray all the time. Thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you, who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

Romans 8:37 " "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?

We gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us. It shows that He loves us so much that He died for us. In everything, we have won more than a victory because of Christ who loves us.
