Psalm 8: 3 – 4 (NIVUK) When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
This is an awe-inspiring question, until one reads the creation story in faith. The first story is about God doing the whole of creation and when He had made everything else, He made humanity. He created them in His own image and then set them in authority over all of the Earth. Then He chose us to have fellowship with Him and one another. When we abused His authority, He sent Christ to redeem us. First, He allowed His Son, Jesus, to become flesh and dwell amongst us; then by faith, He allows His Spirit to live in us, restoring us to the place we had before the fall into disgrace. Just remember, Satan walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. But because of the grace we receive through Christ we can overcome the noise he makes and defeat Satan. Jesus saves us from death and destruction and restores us to the Father’s Kingdom.
Into Your hands we place our lives. In Jesus Name. Amen

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) I beseech you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
The writer is begging us to place our bodies at the total disposal of God, freely, without any conditions attached. But this is not something new. It is a theme that travels throughout the Bible. When the commandments were given, they are summarised in this way, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” To do this we need to offer ourselves truly as a living sacrifice, always and everywhere, totally and completely. Without argument. Why? Because we give ourselves to Him unconditionally as He has given Himself to us unconditionally.
Father, I give myself to You as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is my reasonable service. In the Name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Amen

Galatians 1:10 (ESV) For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Whose are we? Yes, I am your brother, and you are my brother/sister in Christ. But I am not only a child of God, I am also the servant of God. The writer to Galatians says it even stronger “I am a bond servant of Christ!” I have been created in the image of God, by God, with the ability to make my own discissions. When I had fallen into sin, through my own fault, God died for me so that a may have the life back that I wasted. Through creation I am Gods child and by redemption I am His bond servant. Yet He will never force us to do anything we do not wish to do. So let us identify ourselves as Children of God through creation and the servants of God by redemption. And His desire for us is to simply do this: “Love one another, as Christ has loved us. Loved Me.”
O Lord, my God, how great You are. Thank You. Amen.

Matthew 6: 34 (NKJV) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
At this time of the year everyone is busy with planning and their own budget for 2025. There is a nervous tension in the air. The big question: are we going to have enough? Yes! If we trust God, not only for enough but for the unforeseen, for the street people, for whomsoever God puts into our way to care for. When the time is right God provides. My friend always asks why does God wait until the eleventh hour, in fact, a second to twelve? God gives what we need when we need. Remember the account is paid on time, because it is always available to God. If we concentrate in making every moment of today the best moment we can make it, with God’s help, then we do not have to worry about tomorrow because we will do the same thing tomorrow as we do today.
Father, we lovingly place today into Your hands. Help us release it gently, in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Ephesians 5: 19 – 20 (NKJV) Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
When we awake, we can say: “Good morning.” Are we bog eyed and bleary? It does not matter; we grow our greeting by saying “The Lord be with you.” Those in our household will soon adapt to our habit. Even the regulars we meet in the mornings on the way to work will soon become use to our new way of greeting. Using hymns and psalms to speak to people with just identifies us. The writer to Ephesians is saying that doing this puts the Gospel into action around us and we can not help but be filled with joy. Remember Jesus said what the heart is full of the mouth will overflow of. If our hearts are filled with melodies of God, our hearts will also overflow from them
Lord, thank You for another new day given us by Your grace. Let Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self – control fill our hearts and minds today. In the Name of Jesus, Your Son our Lord and Saviour. Amen

1 John 4: 15 (NKJV) Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
Do the people around us know that we believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Because if we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, then God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, will live in us. That is what abide means. We become the House of God. Everyone one that meets us will see that God is in residence in us and that He bears testimony to His presence in us by the word we speak and the deeds we do. Yes, sometimes we fall short, but if we are faithful and confess, He is faithful and forgives and continues to establish His Home in us. And just there is enough reason to always and everywhere praise our God, our Saviour our King.
Father, thank You for dwelling in me, in the Name of Jesus our Lord. Amen

Romans 12: 12 (NJKV) (Let love be) rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
A loved one died. How do I praise God? It does not matter how the person dies. They are gone. Suddenly our lives are empty in that space. In the midst of the longing, missing, agony and everything else we feel, just start praising God for He is with us. Praise Him for the life of our loved one, for the privilege we have had to share life with that loved one. Genuinely give thanks for our lives together. Praise Him for the many, many people that He sends into our path at this time of need, especially for those who come to us that we may not be alone but have someone who is not thereto talk or be spoken to, just there to hold our hand. There is so much to praise God for, and I promise that our quiet praise will raise us up from the death into life. A different and new life.
Thank You, Father, that praise does not need to noisy, just deep quietly bringing peace at a moment of deep loss. Be with all who mourn, that even in their mourning they may praise You, our God and Father in Jesus Name.

Psalm 59:16 (NKJV) But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
We don’t need any reason to praise God. If we try just a fraction, there won’t be enough hours in the day to proclaim how great our God is. God knows everything that there is to know about us, nothing is hidden. So, in disaster, and in joy, in everything that takes place in life, let these words be on our lips, day and night and in every situation: “all God’s people sing glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns.” When we are the most devasted, smashed against a concrete wall by a hurricane wind, He reigns. And as we proclaim it, we find peace even in the hurricane. But do it all the time even when life is quiet and complacent, proclaim our God reigns, Praise His Name.
Father, help us always and everywhere to sing Your praises. In the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen

Luke 6: 28 Bless those who curse you and pray for those who spitefully use you.
Lord, we give You praise this morning, that we have glorious opportunities today to praise God, for knowing that You are with us today. We praise You that we are called to praise You when we are physically, verbally, and spiritually abused for Your name’s sake. Lord, we praise You for the anticipation that we have of seeing You at work in Your Kingdom, and most of all that we have the privilege of knowing You in our lives and that You love us. Wow! Praise you God for loving me. So let us in every situation, good or bad just praise Your Holy Name. Amen.

Luke 6: 38 (NKJV) Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
There once was a gentleman who made this statement: I went bankrupt five times. Then I contractually committed to give 10% of my earnings to God. Now I give away 90% of my earnings to God and I don’t know what to do with the remainder. Have we ever taken God’s Word seriously? Instead of complaining, we try and out-give God? Friends this is one of the surest ways that we can know that God. Trust Him. Truly believe Him. I want to challenge everyone that I ever meet to put God to the test as we are challenged to do in the book of Malachi. Go read it. Believe it. Do it. See what happens and tell everyone you know the true results.
Father, help us to try and outgive You, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Philippians 4:9 (NKJV) What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Remember Christ lives in us. we need to say to people, “Look at us, listen to us. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in us—practice these things.” We are so looking at the things we still do wrong and feel that we are not good enough. WE ARE GOOD ENOUGH! Christ makes us good enough. Bear testimony. Let it be that people look at us and say “I want to be like that.”
Come Holy Spirit come. Reveal God the Father and God the Son in Us. In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Psalm 34:18 (ESV) The LORD is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
How many awoke this morning with a crushed spirit? How many are asking the question: “God, do You really love me?” The pain will not stop. The destruction of our bodies and the pain that comes with it is terrible. Then there are the attacks on our spirits, especially from friends and family. In the pain, in desolation, when we feel the earth shudder from a strong earthquake, when we have a fierce wind coming from the front, wanting to blow us back to where we were before, when an all destroying fire roars about us taking everything and leaving it empty, stop. Listen. Hear that very quiet voice, not overwhelming, loving, kind, gentle, peaceful. Soft as the quietest whisper. “I love you. I am with you. I have faced the devil and all that he can throw at you. Whatever he likes, I have defeated him. He can not kill or destroy your life. No! I am with you even to the end of the age.” Dearest, dearest brothers and sisters, hear His voice, feel His love, feel His presence, know His saving grace.
Lord, our God, have mercy on us and right now let us know Your Piece in us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
