*Word for Today: Anchors for your soul (2)*

*Today's Scripture : 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar.' Acts 27:24*

Second, *anchored by God's plan and purpose.* The second anchor in a time of crisis is found in Acts 27:24, where Paul quotes God's angel: _'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.'_
In other words, 'You're on board this ship because I have a *purpose* for your being here. And my eternal purpose for your life is greater than this temporary storm.'

Have you discovered your God-given purpose? *You're not here on earth simply to take up space; God has a specific plan for you. The storm you're caught in right now is just a temporary setback. Absolutely nothing can change God's plan for your life unless you choose to disobey him. And yes, you can do that. But the Scriptures teach that no outside person or force can change God's plan for your life or alter his divine purpose when you say, 'Lord, I want to do your will.'*

As surely as God told Paul, 'You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you,' he is saying to you, 'I will bring you through this storm.' When you focus on your *God-given purpose,* he empowers you to overcome your problems. That's why Paul wrote: *'I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us' (Philippians 3:13-14).*

*Prayer for Today: My Father in heaven, You created me for Your Plan and Purpose. As I go through storms of life, I don't want to loose Your Plan and Purpose for my life. Lord help me to accomplish these. In Jesus' name.....Amen.*

*Friday 13 th September.*

*Title: Know your Season!*

*Text: _‘Which yields its fruit in season.’ Psalm 1:3._*

Your life is lived in seasons, and to be fruitful you must recognise the season you’re in and maximise it. ‘How can you tell when a season is ending?’ you ask. Because the grace that accompanied that season will lift, and what was once rewarding will start to feel unrewarding.

The Bible says a successful man or woman is like a tree planted by streams of water ‘which yields its fruit in season’. You can only be fruitful in your season! That’s where blessing and success occur. You can’t just do it whenever you want to; it has to be in your appointed time. When the right season comes, it’s effortless for a tree to produce what’s stored within. And there’s fruit within you that will be produced when you understand what season you’re in.

But there are rules for each season; let’s look at them.

*Spring—is for training and discipline.* The weather will be warmer. You will be growing new leaves, new vision, fresh anointing, new life... You will be having lots of friends, phone calls, watsapp messages. People are now beginning to notice you. Even birds of the air that are not even related to you want to be identified with you...

*Summer—is for maturing what spring started.* This is a hottest season, the leaves would have matured and saving their purpose. Friends, families e.t.c. are now hiding themselves under you. You are standing all the heat that the sun is bringing, lots of praises and worship are coming from you..

*Autumn—* The weather becomes mild, you start losing leaves. This is a tricky season, because it's a season that shows who your really friends are. People will start deserting you. People you once helped, you once covered will start seeing potential fire wood in you. But you need to understand that your Spring is on the way. I have seen a lot of people who lost it during the fall.

*Winter—* In winter no one wants to be close to you. People will be using your hurts, your failures to warm themselves. You become the main agenda for gossip. You are closed outside, you have lost all the leaves no one wants your shade. People now prefer the sun than your covering.

*_Learn from a tree, during the winter it doesn't complain, when summer comes it doesn't hold grudges it will still give shade to those who were even despising it during winter._*

*Word for Today: These Things*

*Today's Scripture: "For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:" 2 Peter 1:8-10*

*There are THINGS that make one great, and there are THINGS that make one fail.* Our opening scripture talks about things that make you not to fail, and it says if you lack these things, you fail.There are things that can make you a victor 24/7 and can make your life glorious. The question is, *WHAT ARE THESE THINGS?* You will have to read the preceding verses to know THESE THINGS. If you study your bible, you will come to understand why some people succeed and why some fail. God is not mysterious.

There are THINGS you are doing that possibly making you enjoy life, or there are THINGS you are doing, which are possibly the reasons for your frustration. _There also may be THINGS YOU ARE NOT DOING, which may be the reason you are where you are._ There are things every successful farmer does. One of them is HE PLANTS SEED and WATERS the seed. This is just one of the many THINGS a farmer does to have a great harvest. *Any farmer who wants a great harvest but ignores the THINGS that produce a great harvest will harvest wishes only.*

You really don't need a prophet somewhere to tell you whether you gonna succeed or fail in life. YOU CAN TELL FROM THE WORD. If you are not doing the word of God, you simply are programming yourself for a life of defeat. God is not a respecter of persons, I am doing what Paul, Peter, and James did. It should never surprise you at all to hear that I have gathered 3 million SOULS for JESUS. I am doing THINGS that people who gather millions of souls do. _Doing things that poor people do will forever keep you poor. Doing things that rich people do will make you rich._ I can't list to you all the things which you ought to do to make you great. All I can tell you is that doing the word will secure your future. I know my next 20 years apart from visions and prophecies I know by the word of God.
*MARK THESE THINGS THAT MARK ONE GREAT and begin to do them AND MARK ALSO THOSE THAT MAKE ONE FAIL and make up your mind never to do them.*
_Your life is a reflection of things you did or didn't do._ If you don't like where you are, change the things you are doing. Until your mind is changed, you may never change the way you do things, so RENEW your mind with the word first.

*_Get to do these things. Don't walk the path of failures and expect to meet with success. Don't walk like an ordinary man and expect to see the supernatural._*

*Prayer for Today : My Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of life today. Lord help me to do THESE THINGS THAT WILL BUILD YOUR KINGDOM. Help me Lord to DO THESE THINGS that will ADVANCE YOUR WILL and INSPIRE OTHERS. In Jesus' name.....Amen*

*Word for Today: Stand in the Gap.*

*Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 22:30 _""I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one."_*

Back in the prophet Ezekiel's day, cities had walls built around them to protect them from enemies. At times there would be a broken place in the wall, something happened that caused a gap. The enemy could easily come in. So they would pick one of their strongest warriors to stand in the gap until they could get the wall repaired.

_People all around us have broken down walls. They may have gotten off course, had a divorce or setback, or fighting an illness, but there's a breach in their wall. God is asking you, "Will you be that warrior who stands in the gap and won't let the enemy overtake them? Will you cover them with prayer and speak faith over their lives while they are down?" When you see someone in need, fighting a battle, don't be passive. Lift them up in prayer, encourage them, let them know that they're not alone. God will use you to bring healing and restoration._

*Prayer for Today: _"Father, thank You that I can stand in the gap for the people in my life who are living with walls that are broken down. Thank You that I can cover them in prayer and speak words of faith over them. I will make it my mission to help them rebuild their walls. In Jesus' Name.... Amen."_*

*Title: Things You Must Overcome.*

*Text: _‘I discipline my body… Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.’ 1 Corinthians 9:27._*

The second issue you’ll have to address is your emotions. While they can be a gauge of how you feel and a clue to what needs to be changed in your life, never let emotion alone dictate your decisions.

Ask anyone who has to perform at the top of their game, and you’ll find that much of their time is spent overriding their emotions. However, listening to your emotions to get to the core of what’s bothering you can be a very revealing indicator of your condition.

Consider these two statements:

(1) I don’t feel like working today. Why not? Did you stay up too late last night? Perhaps you need to change your schedule. Are you eating well? Maybe you need to adjust your diet. Not motivated? Talk to God, read His Word, spend time with an encouraging friend, etc. Don’t just sit there, do something!

(2) I’m a little depressed. Are you getting enough relaxation? Have you taken a break lately? Our moods generally swing up after exercise, so start moving and get into shape. You can’t afford to live life based on your emotions. They’ll delay you, stop you, and create detours on your journey to success.

You say, ‘I’m waiting for inspiration!’ You can’t wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.

Follow Paul’s example: _*‘So I run with purpose in every step… I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.’ (1 Corinthians 9:26–27)*_

*Word for Today: BE A SERVANT.*

*Today's Scripture: “And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.” Luke 15: 19*

Our Focal Scripture speaks of when the *prodigal son opted to be treated like one of his father’s hired servants.* He had tasted sonship, but it seemed that he had understood something that the servants understood. He could see that his father’s hired servants had a lot and to spare, while he wallowed in lack. As he planned his return, he planned to serve. *As he planned his return, he planned to operate as a servant.*

_Brethren, normalize operating as a servant. Serve with everything in you. Serve even when no one is watching. Serve at your duty post like your life depends on it. Serve instead of just wanting to be served. Serve the Lord. Serve your superiors. Serve even those under you. Serve with everything that God has put in you. Serve with every capacity that heaven has bestowed on you. Serve like one who understands service._

The hired servants of the father, all had enough and to spare. They had more than the prodigal son had. They had more than enough to share with the son who didn’t have discipline and understanding. They became examples of abundance, yet as servants. *If you dare to learn and operate in servanthood and service, you will serve your way into abundance. There is no man who serves effectively that cannot rise to abundance.*

_Glean the wisdom of service. Glean the humility of servant leadership. Glean the wisdom of working like a servant whilst thinking like a boss. Glean the wisdom of having the posture of service. Let everyone who encounters you meet a true servant. Let everyone who encounters you glean the lessons of effective service from you. Be that one that is willing to serve even when abundance has become your reality._
*Gleaning is a process of gathering/obtaing left over grain after a harvest.*

*Don’t be that prodigal son that can waste but cannot serve. Dare to serve. Serve with everything in you.*

*Luke 16: 10 says: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”*

*_Prayer for Today: My Fathet in heaven, I praise and honor You because of Your love and kindness. I will serve with everything in me, help me to live a servanthood type of life whilst serving You and my brethren. In Jesus’ name.....Amen._*

*Word for Today:A Double Portion .*

*Today’s Scripture - 2 Kings 2:9 _"Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away." And Elisha replied, "Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor."_*

Elijah was a great prophet who did many amazing miracles. One day he saw a young man named Elisha and told him to come and be his assistant, to basically take care of him. Elisha was from a wealthy family and could have been too proud to take what seemed like a low level position, but he recognized the favor on Elijah's life. He respected the anointing. For years he served Elijah with honor, and eventually, he received a double portion of Elijah's anointing and did twice as many miracles.

*_When you sow into someone with great favor, you're going to reap some of that favor. Sow honor into that supervisor who’s ahead of you. Sow respect into that colleague who’s extremely talented. Sow friendship and encouragement into that person who's taking new ground. God put them there to bring you favor. As you connect to them, new doors are going to open for you, and new talents are going to come out._*

*Prayer for Today: _"Father, thank You that Elisha didn't just get the favor that Elijah had, but he received a double portion. Help me to find the people with whom I should connect and help them to find me as well. I believe that the honor I show them will come back to me. In Jesus' Name....... Amen."_*

*Word for Today: He Walks Through Doors.*

*Today's Scripture: _"On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!"_ John 20:19.*

In John 20, Jesus had just risen from the dead. One evening the disciples were huddled together in a room behind locked doors for fear of being arrested. *They did everything they could to keep people out, but Jesus suddenly walked through the door.* He didn’t unlock it, open it, or try to beat it down. He just came through it. God was showing us that *closed doors can’t keep us from what He has for us.*

_A loved one may have shut the door in your relationship. How you were raised may have closed the door, seemingly putting you at a disadvantage. Forces of darkness may have locked the door, trying to keep you addicted. It’s been that way a long time. The door is locked with a deadbolt. The good news is that God comes through doors. He’s not limited by what’s limiting us. We’re natural; He’s supernatural. Closed doors can’t stop you. God is going to walk right through it. He’s not going to let you miss your destiny._

*Prayer for Today: _“Father, thank You that You see every detail of my life, and You know when I’m fearful and hiding behind closed doors. Thank You that any of the closed rooms in my life are still wide open to You. I invite You to come into all the rooms of my life and be Lord. In Jesus’ Name.......Amen."_*

*Word for Today: YOU WILL LAST*

*Today's Scripture: Luke 15:13 “And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.”*

Our Focal Scripture speaks of *how it was not many days before the prodigal son gathered all he received and wasted same. What he received did not take many days before it was in jeopardy. What he received was lost in no time. What he received was lost almost as soon as he got it. What he received did not last long in his hands. What he received literally expired in his hands too soon. What he received did not last in his hands.*

_My brothet and my sister, whatsoever you have received from the Lord will last. Your access to high places will last. Your greatness will last. Your rising will last. Your progress will last. Your open doors will last. Your miracles will last. Your favour will last. Whatsoever opportunity that heaven has given you, will last. Your relevance will last. Your resources will last. Whatsoever God has allowed you to receive, will last in your hands._

*I pray for you: your marriage will last. Your children will last. Your career will last. Your ministry will last. Your influence will last. Your relevance in high places will last. The results that God has granted you will last. Your relevance in heaven’s agenda will last. You will not be a one-time wonder. You will not be a flash in the pan. You will not be counted among those whose greatness is here now, gone now. You will not expire ahead of time.*

*Again, I pray for you: may the grace of longevity be upon you. May the grace that keeps men relevant and useful for long years be upon you. May the grace that causes whatever has entered your hands to last long, be upon you. May the grace that causes men to remain in high places from year to year and from decade to decade be upon you. May the grace for lasting results be upon you. May the grace for lasting crowns be upon you.*

*No longer will your portion expire way too soon. Whatsoever the Lord has done in you or put in your hands will stand the test of time.*

_Ecclesiastes 3: 14 says: “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.”_

*Prayer for Today: My Father in heaven, thank you for granting me life in abundance. I believe and have faith that whatever You have done for me will stand the test of time, in Jesus’ name.........Amen.*

*Word for Today: WALK IN POWER*

*Today's Scripture: “And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.” Luke 15: 12*

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the prodigal son asked his father to give him the portion of goods (properties) that pertained to him. In bible times, the Jews had the practice of blessing their sons before they moved on to their own endeavours. *Notice that the prodigal son did not ask for the blessings of the father; he simply asked for goods; he asked for things but didn’t ask for blessings that sustain things.*

Brethren, our walk with God is a walk of power. *The kingdom of God is not about things only, but about power.*
_Never make the mistake of asking for things but not desiring power. Never make the mistake of desiring possessions and opportunities but not asking for the power that sustains what God has brought your way._
*Never make the mistake of living without the consciousness of the power of God. Don’t choose to have goods and things, but forget to get the blessing.*

_Whatever you do as a child of God is about power. Your ability to confront the gates of hell effectively is about power. Your ability to subdue demons and principalities is about power. Your ability to remain relevant despite your rivals and competitors, is about power. Your ability to stay righteous in a sinful world, is about power. Your ability to remain risen after you have risen, is power. It’s a walk of power essentially._

*When Jesus would go back to heaven to be with the Father, He instructed the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they be endued with power from on high (see Acts 2). When He called His twelve disciples to Him in Matthew 10 vs. 1, He gave them power against unclean spirits. The blessings of God speak of empowerment to prosper; and you would be making the same mistake of the prodigal son if you choose to walk without power.*

*In all your getting, seek to be filled with the power of God. Don’t be counted like the prodigal son that got the goods but lacked the blessing and power.*

_Romans 8: 11 says: “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”_

*Prayer for Today: My Father in heaven , thank you for the gift of life today. Thank You Lord for releasing Your Power unto me. Your power is the best investment You did to me. With thy power I conquer evil, with thy power I heal the sick, with Thy power I preach the Word, with Thy power I cast away demons. I declare that I walk in Power, in Jesus’ name......Amen.*
