Thank you again to all who contributed towards the latest batch of donated milk and bread packs delivered to uMhlanga Hospital last night!

The staff are incredibly grateful! They feel seen and appreciated!

We received a batch of beautiful Thank You cards handmade by Grade 2 pupils from Clifton School which we attached to most of the packs. Such a special gesture that the staff highly appreciated.

“BREAD & MILK PACKS FOR FRONTLINE WORKERS”

Hi everyone,

For those who have approached us looking for ways to help the frontline workers who are supporting our communities, we’ve got just the opportunity!!

We are thrilled to let you know that after approaching our local uMhlanga Hospital about ways to help, it was suggested that we donate “bread & milk packs” for staff who are exhausted after their shift and can grab a pack on their way home.

If you are interested in getting involved, you can do so by either dropping off milk and bread at Grace Family Church in Umhlanga during the week between 9am and 2pm, or you can make a donation and we will purchase milk and bread on your behalf.

Some important logistics:

- packs will be distributed on Mondays and Wednesdays
- there will be a box at Grace Umhlanga reception for drop off during the week between 9am and 2pm from Monday (18th).
- pls buy long life milk
- you’re welcome to add a note of thanks / prayer / scripture to encourage the recipient
- pls tie a knot in the bag / seal bag and then *sanitize it before dropping it off*

For those wanting to donate:
Bank: Nedbank Limited
Account Name : Grace Counselling
Branch Code: 135626
Account Number: 1142500810
Ref: “bread & milk”

We are also wanting to approach local businesses about getting involved. So if you are a local business or know of a business who could contribute, please share the above with them.

Let’s really show our frontline workers how grateful we are for their selfless dedication and sacrifice.

I’ve been walking with Jesus for 50 years now and I continue to be undone by the fact that a King like Him is absolutely delighted in a commoner like me. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Posted • This helps explain the heart behind the campaign
:
“This Pınar Gültekin, a 27-year-old Turkish student whose body was found on July 21, five days after she disappeared. Pınar was brutally murdered in an act of jealousy by her former boyfriend. For Turkish women, it was evidently the final straw in a rising trend of women being killed (that has only increased with the pressure of COVID-19). Outraged, Turkish women took to the streets in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş neighbourhood and three other cities across the country, holding a vigil for Pınar and other femicide victims. A black & white photo trend emerged as part of this campaign - not a new idea, but one that made sense to breathe new energy into. The medium fit the message - Turkish women are tired of seeing their slain sisters in newsprint. At the same time, an old black and white photo campaign re-emerged with a hashtag ....... the best thing we can do is see her face and say her name and include the hashtags her sisters need us to include so their voices become loud”
Rest In Peace, Pınar. You deserved so much better.

Lord, the pace can get feverish, the speed of things can make us sick.
The hurry makes us hurt.
Still us.
Slow us.
It is safe to exhale.
It is safe to trust.
*You* are safe to trust.

We are safe:
You know the hairs on our head — so we can leave our life in Your hands.

We are safe:
You love our loved ones beyond even death & into the grace of eternal life — so we can leave our fears at the door.

We are safe:
You name us Beloved — so we can leave all the lies at Your feet & find the relief of Your arms.

In the stillness now.... we taste Your goodness now.

Because when the world strives — the wise still. It's the only way to feel our Father's embrace.
