My conversation with a friend on church stuff
Ok I believe in the gospel of Grace,like grace in all areas and am a new testament believer, Paul says if there was no fault found in the old covenant LAW there wasn't gonna be a need to establish a new covenant GRACE which is based on christ.
Meaning that in the old covenant which was the law there wer many things that wer done and becoz of the fault in the covenant there were many faults that wer done there which are then corrected in christ(new covenant).
They base spiritual coverings on Elijah and Elisha mainly that if you serve well u get a double portion of the anointing but that was good for the old covenant wer there wer faults but now in christ what can compare to "that same power that raised christ from the dead dwelling in me" can my mentors anointing compare to it,can serving him make me more powerful than what that power can make me.am not saying serving is bad it's good I also serve but through christ I've obtained far much more than what Elisha got,he got a double portion but I through christ I have the resurrection power in me which is far better,Paul says to the philippians "that I may kno him and the power of his resurrection" ,so he is interested in the resurrection power not a double portion of someone's anointing.
to those in ephesus he says NLT version
I pray that you would understand God's power which exceeds greatness which is for you who believe and that power is the same power that raised christ from the dead.
To the Romans he says that same power that raised christ from the dead dwells in you hahaha
It's greater than any power
So for me the teachings on serving to receive a double anointing in the new testament is baseless esp if we consider God has offered us the resurrection power
And about coverings hahaha that's just a joke for foolish Galatians out there christ is enough,one of the faults of the old covenant was that the high priest who represented People to God suffered death he would grow old and die then they find a new one,so when God noticed that fault he gave us a high priest (Christ) who is not affected by death who will stand for us before God forever,so why take myself back to the old wer I need a man to stand for me while Jesus is there as the intercessor as the mediator.
But for mentoring I support that one Paul taught t,and jesus practiced it and we need to continue doing t for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.
