PRAYER PART 1
We have come to a point where we must discuss about prayer, it's a long subject and as a result I will break it down into parts, this being part 1. Please follow the sequence it will make it easier to understand this big subject.
The ultimate revelation of a matter is normally found in the book of Revelation, what I mean is normally this is the clearest picture we have on a particular subject.
Revelation 5:6-8
Tells us that at the throne of God you have a lamb that took the scroll from the hand of God. This lamb is encircled by 24 elders and 4 living creatures and they fall down in worship before the lamb with harps for music and present to him bowls full of incense and this incense is what prayer is.
So when we pray the prayer will eventually reach the throne of God as incense in a bowl, being presented to the throne (specifically the lamb) by 24 elders and 4 living creatures. So it's not the words you pray that reach God,but incense.
Isaiah 1:13 tells us about a time when Israel rebelled against God and He actually said to them that they need to stop praying because they are wearing Him out and He can't bear the smell coming from their prayers. He actually said because they are full of rebellion when they pray He has to hide and doesn't even take their prayer to heart as He needs to hide His eyes from it.
Verse 16 -19
He calls us to come and settle this problem with Him, His recommendations is to put away evil, learn to do right and seek justice.
So in conclusion, when we pray other beings take the prayer to God as incense, that incense can be a bad smell before God if we keep our evil ways.
So we now understand why in the old testament we have sacrifices making smoke(incense) on an altar as this represents how prayer goes to heaven to be presented before the throne of God.
In the old testament you also have a priest presenting the prayer on your behalf, like it is in the ultimate Revelation.
Psalms 141:2
David says let my prayer be set before
