Topic: EMPOWERED FOR EXPANSION
Genesis 1:28 reveals that God's original intention for mankind was expansion. Before Adam was instructed to be fruitful and multiply, God first blessed him. This teaches us that divine expansion is the result of divine empowerment.
Ability is the potential to do something and answers the question, "Can I do it?"
Training develops competence and answers the question, "Do I know how to do it?"
However, empowerment is greater than both. Empowerment is the release of divine power, authority, grace, capacity, and resources to accomplish a God-given assignment. It answers the question, "Am I enabled and authorized to do it?"
This is why Zechariah 4:6 declares:
"Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord of Hosts.
As believers, we must never become more intellectual than we are spiritual. Ability and knowledge are valuable, but they cannot replace the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus trained His disciples, yet He still commanded them in Luke 24:49 to remain in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high. This shows us that training without empowerment is incomplete.
Then, in Acts 1:8, Jesus revealed the source of true empowerment:
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you..."
The most important reality in a believer's life is the presence of the Holy Spirit. He is the source of spiritual power, divine capacity, wisdom, authority, grace, and fruitfulness.
Therefore, true expansion is not merely the result of hard work, intelligence, or natural ability. It is the product of a life empowered by the Spirit of God.
