"WORTHY LONG POST ALERT!!!
[Offense or an offended heart suffocates the life out of you]
One of the greatest favors you can do for yourself and purity of your heart & soul, is to free your heart off every offense. Whether intended or not, aware or not, ask God to help you forgive those who may have offended you; and also ask the Lord to open your eyes & heart to see those you may have offended, and be humble enough to apologize for your wrongs. Offense eats you up like cancer and often hinders the move and flow of the Spirit and anointing of God over you [unforgiving & proud to apologize and make peace].
There are times, where as a minister and leader, I found out that, (especially unaware), I had offended others. Some got offended by my passing without greeting them (without realizing or noticing because I may have been focusing on something else at the moment), some even told me that I offended them when I did not wish them birthdays or well wishes (most of which I may have never even been aware when their specials days were); there are so many reasons one can offend or be offended by others, some intentional or unaware. There are justifiable offenses and unjustifiable, but whatever the reason, it doesn't matter, it corrupts the heart, and needs healing!
Equally, I have been offended by others or somethings in my life, as I said above, some were justifiable and some weren't, but whatever the case, I needed to seek freedom, ask for forgiveness or even extend forgiveness. The healing of an offended heart is in forgiveness. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and champion of our faith, always emphasized the importance of forgiveness; don't expect the apology or forgivenss to do something to the next person, but let it be for guarding your heart and keeping it pure.
As the year closes, many can testify how hard this year has been to most people. But as we close off the year, ask God to help you discern the state of your heart, ask God to search and expose your heart, and if there is offense or anything that may stand in your way of coming to Christ and experience God's fullness in your life in the new year, ask God to help you release you from the trap and snare of offense, unforgiveness and pride.
Forgive and ask for forgiveness, make peace and live in peace with everyone, make love your aim and greatest quest in the new year!"
