COMPREHENDING THE CANON

When were the books of the Bible written and by whom? Who decided which books would be in and out and when did this happen? Are there lost books which should have been included? Come explore with us the origins and reliability of the biblical canon.

BTI theologians. I Hope you're doing great! Just wanted to let you know about the BTI Open Day happening next Wednesday, Feb 15th at 7pm at Eikestad Primary Activity Center.

We're going to watch a short film about all the amazing ways God is busy working around the world, and will be giving a short talk about our mission at BTI and how we fit into God's plan to build His church.

It's going to be a great time of learning and inspiration, and we would love for you to be there with us! Please invite your friends and family as well. It is open to everyone.

As we begin the new year, I'm sure we all have a lot of goals and habits we want to work on. One habit that I really hope you consider taking up this year is reading some great Christian books. There are so many amazing authors out there who have a heart for sharing God's truth and applying it to everyday life. Reading these books is such a wonderful way to grow in our love for God and his people.

That's why I wanted to invite you to join The Berean Bookclub this year. We're going to be reading some amazing books written by saints of the past and present, and our hope is that through reading these books, we'll be encouraged to draw closer to Jesus and love him more deeply. As Bereans, we're always open to learning from what the authors have to teach us, while also checking everything against God's ultimate authority - the Bible.

I hope you'll consider joining us on this journey of reading and growing in faith.

During the past year, there may have been many times that you have felt the need to escape the realities of the present and run off into a different world, whether that is through your screen and the online world or through substances. The fact of the matter is that the present sometimes just feels too much to bear. So does the Bible have anything to say about this?

That is the topic we'll be exploring at our 1st Saturday Seminar of 2021. On the 13th of March from 8.30am to 1.00pm Kyle Johnston will be giving three lectures/interactive discussion on Escapism.

Kyle is an Elder overseeing pastoral care at Jubilee Community Church and offers biblical counselling among a network of churches in Cape Town. Kyle also teaches Biblical Counseling at George Whitfield College.

There is only space for 45 people in-person, otherwise you can watch it live on zoom. Either way you need to sign-up to save yourself a seat or to get updates on the zoom link closer to the day.
